Does anyone go to a parish that offers Holy Communion by intinction? My parish doesn’t, but I have attended an Anglican-use parish that does, and I find that a very good way to offer the Lord under both species. It requires only one chalice (if only the priest is offering it) and it is more efficient time-wise because you don’t have to go to a separate line to receive the Precious Blood (and you don’t have numerous people drinking from the same cup). I also like the fact that it requires receiving the Eucharist on the tongue. I’ve heard this is a common way of receiving Holy Communion in Europe, and I wonder why it hasn’t caught on here in the U.S.?
