Receiving more than one host.

As an Eastern Catholic that receives on the tongue by intinction, I have on occasion received two, stuck together, hosts. I have proceeded as usual and consumed them. I guess it happens and its no big deal.

I was going to ask the apologist, but it seems my questions are too trivial and they go unanswered. I was thinking maybe this has happened to others?

I take it as a spiritual blessing, as I almost died when a priest told me I had not truly received communion since I was little when my parents left the Catholic church, even though I went to church with Christian denominations my whole adult life.

I was under the impression people can receive twice a day. So, if it is the first time you receive that day I don’t think it matters

Sometimes you may get two hosts, sometimes the supply is running low and the priest may break hosts in half. Either way you get all of the Eucharist – you don’t get more of Jesus one day and less of him the next.

Receiving two hosts at the same time is not the same as receiving Communion twice. It’s a single reception - quantity is irrelevant.

It’s not like there are “two bodies.” What you receive is the Body, full stop.
