Perhaps they are, but they shouldn’t be doing it precisely at the time when 100% of their being should be focused on receiving the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ. This is a remarkably profound moment. It’s simply not a time for additions, adaptions or distractions – to themselves or people around them.My wife and I (who are Encountered) have done this, but I would not do so except at the invitation of the celebrant. That said, however:
Careful with this logic: “Why do we need the Sacrament of Matrimony at all? I’m already unified in Christ with hundreds of women in my parish, to say nothing of the rest of the Catholic world?”
What makes you think they are trying to improve their Eucharistic experience? Maybe they are trying to improve their Matrimonial experience?

It’s also not the time to give a visual cue to others that in essence says ‘we’re special, we’re “Encountered!”’ (sic) This would all be more irratating if the ME people knew what they were doing, but they obviously do not, or else they would not be advocating things like this…
