I have a question regarding heaven.

I have listened to many Near Death Experiences and I always seek to find some method of establishing credibility. In the cases where I find the experiences authentic, there seems to be people recognizing loved ones. Of course this is no surprise. But how is one able to recognize another that is a pure spirit? Knowing that the spiritual realm is outside of time, could it be that the resurrection of the dead in which glorified bodies exist has already happened? I’m not suggesting that second coming has happened, but could it be possible that once one reaches heaven, they already have their glorified bodies?

One might say this would be a threat to the Church’s teaching on purgatory because its temporal. But purgatory is temporal in the since that it exists as long as there is a universe such as ours. When this world ends, the gates to purgatory are essentially closed off as there will be no “new” members. It’s not temporary in sense of time as there is no time in that realm.

In essence, my question is this: how can we recognize others on the other side of the veil if we are pure spirits before the resurrection of the dead?

This is covered by one of the meanings of the word " Avatar "
God provides a visible temporary identifiable body.
Like in movie " Ghost in the Shell "

The answer comes down to the question “how is one able to perceive a pure spirit?” If the loved one is perceptible to the NDE-experiencer, then they have to have some sort of projection of a physical form, right? And, if this is a vision, then the vision will have some sort of visible projection. So… why wouldn’t they recognize their loved one in the visible projection that God putatively allows?

No. “Glorified bodies” only exist for us in the eschaton, and not before.

‘Purgatory’ exists outside the universe. It’s “populated” by souls that are not material, so it’s not “inside” space-time.

Ugh. Horrible movie, from the perspective of philosophy!

Our knowledge will be infused, not sensed or experiential.
