Hello,

I am a new Catholic having trouble getting into the Rosary. I like the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, and I like the idea of the meditations in the Rosary, but I have a hard time doing it. Does anyone have a recommendation for an audio CD of the Rosary that includes the meditations on the Mysteries verbalized? CD Titles and descriptions of the contents would be appreciated.

Thank you!
Melanie

My dear friend
The rosary by Gretchen Harris is superb but if you want quotes with each hail Mary you need a scriptural rosary. there are many on apples itunes - some cost and some podcasts are free. Check it out.

God bless:thumbsup:🙂

:thumbsup:There is a site that has an audio recitation of the scriptual rosary and offers cd in male or female voice for $10.00 (shipping included): scripturalrosary.org/audiointro.html If you decide you just want plain recitation with minimal additional comments ewtn.com has cds ($8-18 plus shipping) look under ewtn catalogue. They have Divine Mercy Chaplet in song for $15 plus shipping and Traditional Divine Mercy Chaplet for $10 plus shipping.
I purchased the scriptural rosary in female voice (Melissa) and am very pleased with it. I was having problems meditating as well. God Bless !

:gopray2: Yours in Christ,
Maggie

For years . . . *morning after morning *. . . we’ve prayed the Holy :signofcross: Rosary with Father Mitch Pacwa and his group . . . during EWTN’s faithful broadcast of the holy prayer each and every morning . . . it’s on just one half hour before the early morning **Holy Mass **. . . and there are cd’s and dvd’s available for home use . . . For my soul . . . it’s like God opens up a clear wonderfully holy channel . . . ***spanning the distance between heaven and earth ***. . . each morning . . . ***as souls all over the world enter into holy prayer together ***. . . with dear Father Mitch and the gang . . . *it’s something we look forward to every morning . . . *

If you go to rosary army’s website they have free rosary mp3s that you can download, its not fancy, but it helped me a lot

There are lots of great audio out there. Donna Cori Gibson comes to mind. One thing that helped me get into praying was to find some writings that were great to read so you can think on the material as you prayed. One of the best I have found was a small book on the Rosary by Fr. Basil Pennington. It is tremendous.

The Mary Foundation has a free (they only ask for a free will donation) CD with the rosary and the divine mercy chaplet. It can be found on the Catholicity website. My 8 year old daughter learned her prayers at age 3 by listening to it in the car with me!

I own several Rosary CD’s but I really like “The Most Holy Rosary” with Dr. Scott Hahn from Saint Joseph Communications. I don’t remember the cost.

God Bless.

Would this be any help 🙂 ?

or there is this:
  • which is illustrated.
That first one is a free download, & very easy to use.

Fr. Kevin Scallon’s Rosary CD is my favorite:

amazon.com/Rosary-Dana-Fr-Kevin-Scallon/dp/B000N3AMP2/

He has such a gentle, soothing voice … and yet in his gentleness he prays with such obvious fervor that he inspires me every time. :heaven: There is some music contained within, short stanzas to the Holy Spirit and to the Blessed Mother. If you don’t want music included, then you might not enjoy this particular CD.

If you live in CA, NV or NM, you can hear Fr Scallon’s Rosary on the air on Immaculate Heart Radio, if you want to find out what it sounds like before buying:

Schedule here (it’s on at 6:30am M-F and 1:30pm Sat-Sun, Pacific Time): ihradio.org/programs/

Station list here: ihradio.org/stations

Even if you don’t live in the west, you can listen online, too, if you have a decent internet connection … just click the “listen online” link at the top of the page.

God Bless and I hope that you’ll find the right one for you. 🙂

We often use this one also . . . it’s exquisitely done . . . I’ve purchased many of these as gifts because of the gentleness of Father Scallon’s prayers . . . and they’ve been wonderfully well recieved . . .

MelanieDN- First off Welcome to our/the Catholic family. :grouphug:

The Rosary is a beautiful Prayer and I’m really delighted that you want to learn it.

Here are some suggestions (Remember you don’t have to “listen” to them)

Why not start with baby steps or I should say with children steps? Purchase or if you can borrow a Rosary book for Children from your local Parish. Don’t laugh I have a Rosary book for children that I use from time to time and I’m an adult.

Do you have or know of a Rosary Prayer group in your area? Perhaps you can join. Let the group know that you are willing to learn how to Pray the Rosary.

My (great) Auntie had a beautiful and insightful movie called “The Most Holy Rosary DVD”

catholicradiodramas.com/

marianland.com/heartbeat/mostholyrosarydvd.html

Our Lady of the Rosary please Pray for MelanieDN and all those who are learning to Pray the Rosary.

God bless,
goforgoal
