Hi everyone, this sounds like a cliche thread but I’m curious about your opinion on the various Scholastic Theology manuals. I’ve already read through Edward Feser’s The Scholastic Bookshelf series. I own a copy of Scannell’s Manual of Catholic Theology. What I am curious about, though, is whether all these manuals are repeating similar content in varying length … which explains why Tanquerey’s work spans for 3 volumes while Pohle and Preuss 12 …

Which Latin/English manuals are well-written in your opinion? I want manuals on Dogmatic Theology and Moral Theology …

I can’t find hard copies of books by Van Noort or Eduord Hugon … Even Tanquerey’s famous manual is difficult to find … Pesch’s manual is virtually non-existent, and Garrigou-Lagrange’s multivoluminous masterpiece is only available in incomplete illegible pdf version.

Thank you!
