Recommendations for Water Bottles for Kids?

My older kids are 4 and 2. We frequently do outings for a morning or day and they like to have water at night. They’ve both outgrown sippy cups, and I’d like to get them something that will last a few years, be reasonably spill-proof yet operable for a toddler and preschooler, and dishwasher-safe. Oh, and if they don’t break the bank that’s also a plus. 😉

Suggestions?
 
This is my favourite. It has a retracting wide diameter straw. The straw can be cleaned easily, and is wide enough for drinking smoothies.

DS also has this one, which he found easier to open himself when he was younger. It has a narrower straw than the first water bottle above.

I have a Sigg for personal use. I believe they make children’s water bottles.
 
I used to own a camelback water bottle and both of my older girls loved that thing…my middle girl figured out how to use it when she was 13 months.

I went out and picked up two camelback eddys.

That was a year ago and they still use them.

My oldest brings hers to school everyday.

They can take a serious beating. I’m a huge camelback fan…that was all I used while in the military.

For the durability and kid friendliness they are worth the $12.
 
I buy the contigo autospout bottles for my kids as often as they lose them. I buy them for myself as well. I love these things!!

 
Haha, I still use the these Platex sippy cups for my boys— 6 and 3.5. I love the leakproofness of the valves. I tried three or four various models that came with straws, but didn’t like them.

Now that I’ve started packing lunchboxes for my 6yo, I picked up a MyColdCup, which comes with a freeze stick. I love keeping cold drinks cold. 😃

So— I’d use a MyColdCup for traveling with an older child, and a sippy cup with a valve for younger kids, although looking at the reviews on Amazon, they may have changed their lid design in the last year to something far less stellar than their former product offering.
 
I have a 4 and 2 year old too. I can recommend the exact product you’re looking for.

Nalgene makes a great kids’ water bottle. It’s the perfect size (12 oz), indestructible, completely spill-proof (I let my 2 year old keep it in her crib), easy to grip, dishwasher safe, BPA free, etc etc. And they come in a bunch of fun colors. We tote them everywhere. They’re around $8 a piece. Seriously awesome water bottle.
