I will be visiting St. Louis for a week and I want to know about your parish and if you can recommend it for a visitor? I am interested in the name of your parish and when daily mass times are and when reconcilliation is. Thanks in advance…

“St. Louis” covers a lot of ground . . . how about a clue as to where you will be staying? 😉

I just got back from St. Louis (brrrrr  ). It was cold, but the people were very friendly.

If you are by Union Station, St. John the Apostle and Evangelist is a beautiful church and the Masses are at 7:10 and Noon. The Old Cathedral is also beautiful. But, the place to go see and experience Mass at is the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. The Cathedral is magnificent, almost like you’re in the heavenly Jerusalem. Their daily Masses are at 7AM, 8AM and Noon and the Sunday Mass to attend is the 10AM.

St. Francis Xavier (College) Church is nice, but, I was concerned that it took me a good while to find the tabernacle. I didn’t go to Mass there, but I did manage to take some pictures.

Ouch. I can’t think of any “special” church by the airport . . . it’s pretty much an industrial park type area and surrounding neighborhoods are rather non-descript older suburban, if memory serves. (And, if memory does not serve, I apologize profusely to anyone I may have just offended. :o )

Do you have access to a car or other transportation? Benedictgal had some good suggestions . . .

Will you have access to a rental car? If so, then take 70 towards the Gateway Arch. Follow the exit to the Arch. There you will find the Old St. Louis Cathedral. It is a beautiful church and the daily Mass times are 7AM, 8AM and Noon. The anticipated Sunday Mass is at 5:30PM on Saturday.

Now, you can also access Olive and drive down that street until it changes to Lindell. Keep going past the Walgreen’s and you will see the New Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. Their daily Mass times are similar to the Old Cathedral. The anticipated Sunday Mass is at 5PM on Saturday. The choir is at the 10AM Sunday Mass. There is an opportunity for confessoin after the 10AM Mass. The celebrant made the announcment and I took advantage of the opportunity.

I live within 10 miles of Lambert airport and I would
recommend my parish, St.Rose Philippine Duchesne in Florissant. Daily Mass at 6:30, Sunday at 6:30, 8, 10, and Noon Sat. at 5pm
Confession on Saturday starting at 4pm
We also have a Eucharistic Adoration Chapel that
is open Monday through Friday 7am to midnight.
Daily Mass is also at 8:30 am on Mon Wed Fri and
8 am on Tues and Thurs. Mass on Tues and Thurs. is at the school site 3500 St Catherine, the church
is on the 2600 block of Parker Road 63033

Willing to drive about 20 minutes from the airport? Take a look at this and this.

St. Francis de Sales Oratory at the Cathedral of South St. Louis. Under the care of the priests of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, offering the Liturgy of the Classical Roman Rite. The most beautiful thing this side of Heaven.
