Recommended Friday penance?

You can say as much or as little as you’d like. There are no rules for how you can pray the rosary as it is an optional, pious act. If you normally do not say the rosary, but say one or two decades on Friday—great!

Fasten your seat belt, though, because you might get drawn in and start praying it more and more, even on other days of the week. I don’t have as much of a devotion to the rosary like I used to; however, when I did, there were times I would pray 10-15 decades per day. I started off just like you did–with one or two decades.

I just mean I don’t want the OP to feel there are any silly questions. Even if there were, the OP’s was a perfectly fine question. I’m just being a goof…which is fine, unless people who have questions feel as if they’re being made fun of.

As long as the OP knows that even fine questions can have that effect around here! :rolleyes: 😃

I know, I know. I just wanted to make sure anyone who has questions keeps coming up with them. Without the people who are willing to ask real questions that they really want to know the answers to, there is nothing going on here at all, let alone any fun!! 😉
 
I just give up meat. I find I am much more consistent if I practice the traditional friday no meat. There would be no Friday Fish Fry’s without the previous mandate of no meat on Friday. I would like to see the mandate return.
