I got a gift card that is burning a hole in my pocket. What textbook would you recommend for learning Biblical Greek?

Well, that gift card really was burning a hole in my pocket in more ways than one: I lost it in the couch cushions at one point. Too impulsive to wait for a reply (better than impulsively sinning, right?) so I ordered Mounce’s Basics of Biblical Greek textbook and expanded workbook. It seems to have good reviews and to be a standard text used in a lot of programs, and it’s said that it is also good for self-study.

Merry 3rd Day of Xmas y’all!

And remember, Keep Chi in Christmas!

I have “A Primer of Biblical Greek” by N. Clayton Croy. Seems to cover the basics.

Though they probably would not accept the gift card, another option would be to audit a class in Biblical Greek at a college or university. You would not be graded or have to formally matriculate, but would be allowed to sit in the classes and participate. The cost is usually a fraction of the semester hour price. At our local university, the price of auditing was just raised to $75 per class.

Let us know back if you get stymied anywhere and have any questions. If I do not know the answers, I think I still have my old textbooks somewhere.
