I have a really bad memory, and it’s getting worse. Typically, I make a list before I go to speak with my priest. (I prefer face to face. If I’m going to confess something really awful, I want to know there’s a person (in persona Christi) listening.)

I’m not overly scrupulous, so my list is typically short. The past few times I’ve gone, as I was enumerating my sins, I remembered a recent misdoing Id forgotten to put on my list. So I figured if I’m being “reminded” of this, I’ll confess it and receive absolution.

Has this happened to anyone else? You went in thinking you’re going to talk about one thing, and the conversation took a different track?

Or maybe this is a hint that I should just go to confession more often? (I typically go every few weeks. I have a very boring life.)

Thanks for any help or insights.

The Holy Spirit is leading you through your confessions. You are doing a good job and unless there is a persistent mortal sin you are regularly confessing to, every 2 weeks is fine. 🙂
