Hey guys, just wondering what procedures are absolutely required at Reconciliation. Such as do you have to tell the priest when your last confession was?

Absolutely required:
State your sins
Receive absolution

The rest is important but not essential/required. Telling the priest how long it’s been helps guide him in advising you.

Edit to add, since you’re new here (welcome, btw!):
If you don’t at least attempt to follow the normal format, it could cause the priest to sort of raise an eyebrow and begin guiding you through the process, assuming you haven’t been in ages. In such case, he’s probably going to ask. Might as well just start off on the right foot and do things per the “normal” order.

You have to be sorry or want to be sorry for your sins and have a firm purpose of amendment. Meaning that you want to not sin again.

From the introduction to the Rite of Penance:

“21. When pastoral need dictates it, the priest may omit or shorten some parts of the rite but must always retain in their entirety the confession of sins and the acceptance of the act of penance, the invitation to contrition (no. 44), and the form of absolution and the dismissal. In imminent danger of death, it is sufficient for the priest to say the essential words of the form of absolution, namely, ‘I absolve you from your sins in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit’.”
