A week before Easter a couple or even most church’s here where i live are going to have reconcilliation/penance (Second Rite). where their will be about 4 or five preist in the church to hear confession and so on but it is kind of done in a group but the coffesions are done one on one with the preist.

My questions are not for me but can all sins be confessed in this one Mortal/venial or is it only for vinal sins.

my scond one and this one is for me. I do the first 5 saturdays of every month for reparation of the ammaculet heart of Mary (what she said in Fatama. I go to cofession, Mass, Rosary, and also try to keep her company thinking of the rosary mysterys. Would this second Rite confession count towards this thing that I am trying to accomplish.

All sins, mortal and venial can be confessed in this.

I’m sorry, I’m unfamiliar with the First Saturdays devotion.

Most people don’t understand the relationship between a Rite and a Sacrament. The Rite is the ritual within which the Sacrament is celebrated. Confession one-on one with the priest is the Sacrament. all sins Mortal and venial can be Confessed in the Sacrament.

Yes, receiving the Sacrament at the Reconciliation service would satisfy the Confession requirement.

it is confession same as if you went by yourself on a Saturday afternoon, with the addition of some prayer and meditation in a group, but the confession part is the same, and the same rules apply: be accurate, be honest, be complete, be brief. State your sins in kind and number, or frequency, w/o the backstory, if the priest needs details he will ask. All mortal sin must be confessed. It is optional to confess venial sins, just like always. Yes it is valid confession as required as part of the conditions for obtaining an indulgence for any pious practice that carries one.

The first Saturday Devotion was asked for by Our Lady at Fatima - for more info read up on Fatima
