A record number of people in England and Wales will be received into the Catholic Church in Holy Week and Easter.

Over 4,700 people took part in Rite of Election ceremonies in dioceses around England and Wales last weekend, marking a bumper year of new faithful, both catechumens and candidates for reception.
The number was unusually high **thanks to the number of groups of Anglicans **being received into the Church in Holy Week for the Personal Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham – about 800 lay people and 61 clergy.
👍

the Basilica was packed last night with godparents and catechumens (families had to sit upstairs, and the Rite of Election took an hour and 45 minutes, and only about half to 2/3 of parishes were represented. We have a record number, for us, 18, several parishes have more than 50, catechumens only.

Praise the Lord! We have a lot here in the Archdiocese of Galveston Houston! We had our Rite of Election on Sunday at one of the parishes and it was full! And there were 2 others going on simultaneously at other parishes! Very humbling to hear each catechumen’s name being called. The ceremony took over 2 hours. Sometimes during my walk to the Church I felt somewhat alone because it’s not like you come across people in your day to day life that are converting too (at least I don’t) but this made me see I am definitely not!

No you are not alone, a recovering Protestant swimming the Tiber myself, former Baptist and “non-denominationalist” (whatever that means!), glad to be returning to Rome!

Wonderful! Seeing people convert to Catholicism reminds me of my own conversion and helps renew my faith. That is why the adult baptisms are my favorite part of the Easter liturgy.

😃 I’m one of them 😃

It is interesting, though. The ordinariate has something to do with it, for sure, but it’s not just that.

Whatever the reason: it’s fantastic 👍

Praise the Lord for this!!!

Happy Lent to all and God bless. 🙂

Even with the negative publicity over the sexual crises, people are still joining the Church.👍

Welcome Home, Y’all.
Thanks Be To God!

God Bless you.
+Jesus, I Trust In You!
Love, Dawn

I attended the Rite of Election at my local parish this morning and later at the Cathedral, with the Bishop, this afternoon. The Cathedral was packed! What a wonderful experience!

:extrahappy: :dancing: :yyeess:

The far shore of the Tiber looks really close now! 👍
