Recreation on Fridays

Is recreation on a Friday a sin? Friday is the day Christ died for us and I am not sure if it is ok to play soccer with friends on Friday (today). Thank you!

Question: Do you have a lot of things you wonder about if they’re sinful or not? Do you wonder a lot if you sinned mortally? If so, you may be scrupulous and the best way to go forward would be by asking a priest and trusting him.

There is no sin at all. I mean sure, as an act of love to Christ, you might give up playing Football on Friday but there is no obligation under sin to do so.

Doing recreation on Friday is not a sin either (provided the act in itself isn’t sinful; an example of an act sinful itself would be pornography)

Absolutely not. A good dose of recreation per day is good for you. If your whole day is spent in prayer and work, you’ll wear down after awhile.
