I have the red scapular of passion, but have always been curious as to what the prayer is that I should be saying with it each day. Does anyone know, as I have not had much luck looking online.

God bless,

John

This scapular is not associated with a confraternity.

The only prayer associated with it that I know of is on the scapular halves themselves, as seen in the vision of Sister Appoline Andriveau: Holy Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ Save Us!
Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary Protect Us!

The idea from the vision of Jesus is that those who wear the scapular faithfully will be granted a great increase of faith, hope and charity, particularly on Fridays (the office day of the Passion). From one vision, it will serve as “strong armor against infernal assaults, an impenetrable shield against the arrows of our spiritual enemies.” It seems appropriate to contemplate the Passion of Our Lord and the Sacred Hearts.

This is one of three approved sacramentals that arose from members of the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul:
  • Miraculous Medal to St. Catherine Laboure, Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Nov. 27, 1830.
  • Green Scapular of the Immaculate Heart of Mary revealed to Sister Justine Bisqueyburu, Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, September 8, 1840.
  • Red Scapular of the Passion of Our Lord and the Sacred Hearts and Jesus and Mary revealed to Sister Appoline Andriveau, Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, from 26 July 1846 to 14 September 1846.
