Have any of you read Rediscover Catholicism by Matthew Kelly? I am wondering if it is worth the read! If so, have you also read Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly?

I have read it, and it is a good read. I would recommend, however, if you ever get a chance to hear him speak do so, because he is an excellent speaker.

Thank you! I am considering making those two books part of my Lent. I love reading but I’ve never read any Catholic books before.

If it is just a fraction as good as his The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic, it must be great!

Read it. Did not like it. Don’t really care for much for Matthew Kelly’s stuff.

I’m about to finish Rediscover Jesus. Our pastor gifted everyone who attended Christmas midnight mass a copy. I’m enjoying it greatly. Even though I’ve been active in the church for years it does force you to examine your personal relationship to Jesus. The ideas he presents are not new and might seem basic to some but they are well presented and make you think.

I have read Rediscover Catholicism and liked it. I plan to read Rediscover Jesus during Lent.

👍

I love to read so I am planning on reading Rediscover Catholicism during Lent and if I finish it, which I am expecting to, I am going to read Rediscover Jesus. I also ordered The Four Signs of a Dynamic Catholic.

I got a free copy of Rediscover Catholicism a few years ago at a church I was visiting for Easter, but I never read it. I figured it was time to give it a shot. What better time than Lent?

I haven’t read Rediscover Catholicism, but I am currently about 3/4 done with reading Rediscover Jesus. I agree that the book makes one really think about his or her relationship with Jesus. In addition, it challenges everyone to improve their relationship with Jesus and gives practical suggestions as to how. I first found Rediscover Jesus in an Adoration chapel that I visit. On reading further into the book, I decided to order a copy of my own so that I could write notes on what I read on the pages.

Our parish has given both of these out in English and in Spanish. They are not exactly high theology. Most of his appeal is to teens. But since many in the pews do little if any spiritual reading, they are good books to start with
His talks for teens are great.

This is matthew kelly in a nut shell.
I suppose I shouldn’t be so critical. I’m sure he has helped many people.

It is a great book, one I would recommend to anyone, not just those wishing to rediscover Catholicism! There are things discussed that I haven’t found in other Catholic books. It is at the top on my list of Catholic books to read!

Matthew Kelly has a definate and important ministry in the Church to those in the Church who don’t spend much time reading or talking about their faith to those considering coming into the Church…This IS VERY important! He is a motivator of the Catholic Christian faith - Praise God! I am grateful for him and all he does for the Church…I highly recommend his books to all!

I’m going to read Rediscover Jesus by Matthew Kelly for Lent.

Read it, enjoyed it. It’s not very meaty, though, so I wouldn’t read it again.

It’s about time you do!! There great books. Many of our parishes gave them out free. God Bless, Memaw

I read it and am now underlining parts of it. For Lent, I’m reading Matthew Kelly’s book Rediscover Lent.
