Gratitude…

for daylight breaking through the dark
for clouds in the sky
for stars that keep us looking UP
for thought that keeps up looking for the truth
for God, the Creator of all…

Today I’m grateful for family, That my wife’s surgery yesterday went well, That she is home resting today and doing great!, and sunshine.

Gratitude for faithful friends who accept me as I am.
Gratitude for work.
Food
Wind
Heat

Today I’m grateful for physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health. I’m grateful for sacred texts from all the great traditions. Grateful for clean water and nourishing foods. Grateful to be able to help others when I can to the best of my ability and to be helped by others when needed.

Grateful for coffee!
for friendly neighbors
for my wife
for my children
for opportunities to serve God through those I meet

Today I’m grateful that my wife is healing nicely from a recent surgery. Grateful for others’ patience towards me. Grateful for others’ compassion towards me. Grateful that the person running the red light this morning didn’t kill or injure me or anyone else at that moment. Grateful for the sound of church bells.

Grateful for ears
to hear the alarm go off…
to hear my grandchildren playing
to hear the choir singing
to hear the priest offer Mass
to hear Jesus call my name someday…

Thank you Jesus for pointing out my sins.
Thank you for forgiveness.
Thank you for making all things new.
Thank you for work.
Thank you for this moment.
Thank you for housing, for food, for health, for so many things that others do not have.
Lord Jesus, help me to share with love.

Today I’m grateful for silence and stillness, sunshine and snow. Grateful that when I mis-stepped at the top of the stairs I didn’t trip, falling to the bottom and break my neck. Grateful my wife is still healing nicely and she’s enjoying time out with friends today. Blessings to all.

Grateful for

skin that covers my bones,
skin that is washable…think of the dirt and grime we would have to carry around…
skin that grows and renews…
skin of different colors on all God’s creations… 🙂
skin that has nerves to carry messages to our brains to keep us safe…
Thank you, Lord, for skin.

Lord I am grateful that you have renewed my life.
You have rescued me and I am grateful.

Today I’m grateful a friend came home from the hospital yesterday and has a place to receive the dialysis he needs to survive. Grateful for all the nourishment I’ll receive today, and grateful for the way.

Grateful to help a friend move to a new home.

Grateful for prayer time
Grateful for friendship
Grateful for work

I have a rather unique sense of gratitude this morning.

I have been working on installing a fluorescent lamp over the weekend and set it aside Saturday. This morning I came to work and began to work on installing the new ballast.

I had the circuit connected and set the two fixture wires off to the side when I realized:

I had not turned the power off.:eek::bigyikes:

I could very easily be laying on the floor dead right now.
I was handling the maze of bare wires with my fingers and it is only by the grace of God that I somehow did not connect them, even accidentally brush them, in my hands. And the end wires were cut very short and are very close together. How I did not make a circuit with my hands I do not know.

Thank you Lord for the brush with mortality.

Grateful for my health and the health of my family and friends. Grateful that clem is here to breathe and be.

Today I’m grateful to have the car fixed, for fresh air, for fresh veggies and fruit, sunshine and the clouds.

Clem, thank God! I’ve had stuff happen to me too, not shocking like yours but all I can say if God has a plan for you and he’s not finished with you yet…!

Ha I love the pun. Made my day.

I am grateful today that God has put an uncomfortable burr under my rear end.
Yes Lord, even for that I am grateful for your providence and plan.

Today I’m grateful to have gone walking in the fresh air accompanied by beautiful sunshine. Grateful for the birds I saw and heard and for the butterfly also. Grateful the dog up the street didn’t break off its leash and try to maul me. Grateful to be leaving tomorrow on a road trip to visit kids and their families. Grateful for movement and stillness, sounds and silence.

Today I am grateful that a Catholic church sheltered me from the rain.
