I guess this was intended to be pejorative, but, if you stop and think about it… do we really want to have any “nits” in our Holy Mass? It’s the most important thing we do on earth. Surely, if there were a place for “nit-picking,” the liturgy would be it.It is not an area I find much interest in, as too often it seems to me the individuals seem to have lost sight of what the prayers, in their essence, are for. In other words, they pick nits.
Again, you don’t have to take part… but, given the amount of time and energy that the Church and the world put into far lesser matters, I can’t see how you can consider the discussion of liturgical translations to be a waste of time.
