I was raised in a pentecostal family and became an agnostic when I was 15, remaing a skeptical until I converted to Christ and became a Reformed Protestant at the age of 19.

Since then, I delved deeply in the Reformed Faith and even wrote a book about Natural Law in John Calvin’s Theology.

About two years ago I started to study the Church Fathers and that was when my spiritual crisis began! I tried to deny it at the beggining, but it was very clear that their teachings on multiple matters like the Eucharist, Baptism, Liturgy etc. were not in line with Calvinism but with the Holy Catholic Church that I dispised so much…

I tried to forget it again and have even thought about leaving Christianity at all, but I can’t simply deny my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Now I’m seriously convinced that the Roman Catholic Church is the True Church founded by Our Lord and I’m very inclined to convert.

The big problem is that my family (everyone is protestant, from Reformed Baptist to Neopentecostals) is very anticatholic and there’s a big chance that they would ostracize me if I become a Catholic.

So I ask you all to pray for me, so Christ give me courage to do His Will and not be afraid to testify His Holy Name!

Following God

Praying for your intentions. Thank God for the work of grace he is doing in you and that you are open to it. If you tell your family that you are thinking about Catholicism they most likely would try to convince you out of it. But this could also be a witness to them if done in love instead of heated argument. Praying for you.

I’ve developed decent apologetics from all the years studying Theology, but I confess I tend to get overly agressive in heated arguments, so I think, at least for now, it’s best to avoid these situations and pray to God to give me the virtue of Charity and make me a more loving and patient Servant.

Today I told two members of my family about my decision and they reacted much better than I expected! They were just surprised, but not angry at all.

I also received a lovely gift from a dear friend today: a Rosary of Our Lady of Fátima.
I talked to a priest and my catechesis will begin in March.

Keep praying for me and God bless us all.
