Reforming the Church from within

Nice post, Melchior. I was somewhat familiar with the Companions of the Cross because a former pastor of mine transferred from diocesan priesthood to join them. I was just reading about the death of Fr. Bedard the other day. You must experience this as a personal loss. My condolences.

I found your post interesting, but I also think it can serve as a model to many of us. We need to examine ourselves to understand where our emotional responses to these various issues are coming from. Often our gut reactions are rooted in our past experiences and self-awareness can help us to interact better with others.

Melchior, thank you so much for taking the time to think through your reaction and post about it. I had never heard of this group before and will now do a little learning about them.

I agree that those who can reform from within should always be our role models. And interestingly, many of them, like St Teresa of Avila, had to first reform themselves - another good lesson!
