I hope that I have put this in the correct forum…
I am trying to interest my daughter in the Catholic church, she is drawn to Christ and Mary, but in her college they are reading Elaine Pagals and the like, which is giving her a very anti Catholic bias. They are also talking about the ( I thought completely discredited) idea that a worldwide matriarchal goddess culture ( M. Gimutas…ect) was violently overrun by patriarchal Christians.
Can anyone give me, or point me toward some succinct material refuting these ideas? There is so much to study, digest and then discuss, that I’m afraid I won’t have compelling answers for her in time.
And one more thing, her professor claims that in the bible Christ says ‘not to have sex’. Did I miss something? I don’t know of any passages which could even be miss interpreted to mean that…?
