To my mind they are better off within Rome than peering in from the outside. In my mind you are getting like some of these people who play word games! It’s unworthy of you.Since the late 19th, early 20th, Cent, the Anglo Catholics have been a completely disruptive force , at least in the UK.] within Anglicanism, preferring continental ways rather than the old traditional measures.
Is this how you treat a person who has given you an apology for a perceived hurting remark to you? **To continue a line of attack? ** As others have warned you, continuing personal attacks will get you reported.
In fairness to you:
How have I played a word game in saying “persons of your ilk?” If you did not notice it and got offended, and then I point it out to you and now you accuse me of “word games being unworthy of me” I find this appalling. You are certainly entitled to your opinion on the Anglo Catholics being disruptive in the UK but; 1) fail to mention it was your opinion, 2) fail to mention how they were disruptive and 3) these Anglo Catholics were part also of the continuum site that you brought forth as seemingly as the know all be all of Anglicanism. Kindly explain to me how on one hand Rev. Hart can be the great theologian and associated with the Anglo Catholics (practically in their hip pockets) and on the other you condemn them as being “a disruptive force.”
I can tell you this from one of my fellow Anglican bishops that is in Dublin, Ireland, (Last I checked this was still considered part of the UK) he and his churches eschew anything of the word Catholic. Their feelings are you are either Roman Catholic or Protestant, no in between. The only thing they call themselves “catholic” in is that they are “universal” as in the Nicene Creed and Apostles Creed, beyond that they are Protestant. They retained the historic teaching, sacraments, etc. Feel the same as many other Anglicans on these but will never call themselves “Catholic.”
Now this may not be your views or opinions on the matter, but I would have hoped by now that our conversations could become more on the civil tone and less of the tone of personal attack. If you feel they can, then I will be glad to continue conversing with you.
