Regarding Anglicans: Have I got this right?

My youngest daughter who had learning disabilities doesn’t captalize any words. She is very intelligent and I wonder if it is just being lazy on her account or if it is because of her learning problems. But I try not to find fault with others when either they don’t spell correctly or their grammar is not right. I myself don’t always spell certain words correctly.

We don’t know if a person is from the US and of course our public schools are soooo great. Or if the person is from another country. Please re-read your posts and understand that actually you guys are making fun of a poster who seems to be asking a serious question.

When I type it is easy to make mistakes, even after proofing my text. Give people a break okay?

Funny you mention your Anglican Priest telling you not to believe what the Catholic Church teaches, when my Anglican Priest did the exact opposite… of course, he wound up converting after he retired …

Bernadette, trust me, you can try to blame the public education system, but take a good hard look at the parents we deal with and how we cannot discipline, we are forbidden by California law to grade homework, we are told to teach to a test 24/7, and the agenda these days is read, read, read, math math math and you’ll quickly see grammar and English take a back seat. Our district doesn’t even allow us to purchase English books at the elementary level! If you sat where I sit and see what I see on a daily basis, trust me, teachers are not the issue here…society is a complete mess…teachers are just an easy scapegoat target.

Did I just say anything out of line?? I just merely said that the poster should consider it well before making any rash moves like that. Leaving the Catholic church to become a Jehovahs Witness would also be a rash move. Perception seems to be a very weak point for many Catholics.

Your assuming the poster hasn’t given it careful consideration. Why would you take it upon yourself to make that kind of assumption? Perception is a weak point for alot of people. I can think of a perfect example right now…

You are the one missing the point conveniently. I said to look before you leap. Catholicism is much more complex than many Protestant churches. Is it not being a good steward to just make light of that for someone who may be moving too quickly?

How do you know he’s moving quickly? Have you asked him how long he prayed and contemplated this? Is there a timetable on when the Holy Spirit answers prayers? How do you know he hasn’t “looked before he leapt”? And no, it’s not being a a good steward to make light of a serious decision such as this. We are talking about God afterall. And I disagree, I think the CC is actually beautifully simple, when one prays with an open heart.
