Regarding Ecclesiates

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE!

So last night I was reading the bible in Ecclesiates.

I really was reflecting last night and felt that he was feeling
the exact way that I feel since my near death experience.

That everything is worthless…

I don’t know whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing as
to my feeling this way either…

For I’ve always been religious and believed in God, but since
this happened to me it has brought me more insight on the obvious that we are just passing through here.

What is everyone’s opinion on this feeling?

I think that the underlying context of Ecclesiastes with regard to “all is vanity,” is in reference to strictly temporalthings. In comparison to eternal things or those things which lead to eternal life, this is certainly true. However, for some mystical reason, God chose to create the material universe to include temporal things, and all that He had made was “very good.” (Gen 1:3).

I think it’s perfectly fine to feel this way. Nonetheless, hope is a virtue. Don’t lose hope dwelling too much upon that which is pure vanity in this temporal existence of ours. Also remember that in this temporal life, we are on a “mission from God.” That aspect of temporal existence is certainly not vanity.

Oh no I for sure to not dwell on what is pure vanity. My whole issue with this is that all these types of things mean nothing.
Most are man made I do not mean the things that the Lord has made. I had a near death experience and through that I just feel so different. I’ve always been religious but looking around at things since I’ve come out of the hospital I just feel as he did that it’s all worthless. My home and everything I’ve worked so hard for and have at times become extremely stressed about I just don’t see how any of it matters now.

Oh no I for sure to not dwell on what is pure vanity. My whole issue with this is that all these types of things mean nothing.
Most are man made I do not mean the things that the Lord has made. I had a near death experience and through that I just feel so different. My home and everything I’ve worked so hard for and have at times become extremely stressed about I just don’t see how any of it matters now.

Your near death experience has served to detach you from the things of this world - and that is good. It is something we all need to do; before we can become properly “attached” to God, we need to “detach” ourselves from the things of the world. As Jesus said, “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.” (Mt 6:24)

AMEN TO THAT!!! For I’ve been raised in a religious setting.
My family Catholics, but my mother also gave me the opportunity to attend my friends churches growing up so I could make a decision on my own.
But since this happened I feel that for the first time in my life
I felt his TRUE POWER! How I always knew he was here with
me, but with the proof, of him being that closer to me is deeper.
It really did something to me.

I know that in John it states:
Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed.”

In my life I have always believed for I’ve not seen, now I still
have not seen but the power of him, and me almost leaving
this earth does bring me closer to him more then ever.
I’ve never been a material girl and so this it is stronger, I walk
around and hear people talking about buying unnecessary things
and I can’t understand it.

I am grateful for this feeling, for I’ve also been alone for years,
have met men that have deceived me and cheated on me and
he PROVED to me I’m NOT ALONE FOR SURE…he is
always there!
