Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

Amen. †

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.

Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of death.

Amen. †

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle,
be our defense against the wickedness and snares
of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray.
And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the
power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other
evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen. †

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

Sweet Heart of Jesus, be my love.
Sweet Heart of my Jesus, grant that I may always love You more.
Heart of Jesus, burning with love for us, set our hearts on fire with love of You.
Jesus, meek and humble of heart, make our hearts like Your Heart.

Amen. †

Prayers said. All will be well. Do not fear, the Lord is protecting you.
Do not be lonely, your guardian angel is beside you.
Be comforted, Mother will watch over you, and the
Holy Spirit will guide you.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †

If I have read this correctly, your original post was in April. After five months of prayers and encouragement, are you feeling at all lifted? If so, in what way? If not, what thoughts are holding you back?

At that time the burden was overpowering to the point where feelings of worthlessness had set in. Anxiety was almost unbearable, sleep was difficult, medication was ordered. I felt like a complete failure as a husband, father, friend, provider. Everything was truly black. I had become focused on all the rancid failures of the past and truly believed my wife was better off with someone else and my kids would never overcome my bad influence. The good fortune of others became a constant reminder of my own misery.

The temptations to grasp after wealth and prestige and a “different life” are still there but they do not oppress me for the most part.

This is a long story but in a nutshell, I have learned some humility and gratitude, to be thankful for this day right here. This is a crisis of faith for me, as if God is asking me in the midst of my misery
“Are you going to trust and believe in Me, or are you going to continue idolizing your struggles?”.
It’s really a simple question with a simple choice to be made.

I’ve considered myself a good Catholic believer for quite a few years. But I’ve been forced to make the choice to intentionally accept some things:
That the Gospel is true
that Jesus rose from the dead and lives,
that he is a real person who wants a relationship with me,
that he is good and is not waiting to punish me,
that I need ongoing repentance and conversion,
that bearing the cross is not an optional part of Christianity,
that he wants me to let all of this go, give it to him, and carry forward in confidence,
that God’s will is operative in my life right here, today, not in the “somewhere else” where I foolishly wished I was.

I spent quite a few nights laying in a living room chair, terrorized by the normal events of life. All I could do was turn on the little light below our Lady of Czestochowa and look at her and Jesus, and beg for help. God is slowly giving me the eyes to see his goodness and surrender to it.
God is good.

This has also been an enormous help to me. Fr John Riccardo

Praying for you…
*O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen*

I’d like to say that Jesus of Nazareth is the Son of the Living God, and he has given his life for me out of God’s pure love. Jesus Christ has worked miracles in my life and is working a miracle now.

Blessed be God.
Blessed be His Holy Name.
Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man.
Blessed be the Name of Jesus.
Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart.
Blessed be His Most Precious Blood.
Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Blessed be the Holy Spirit, the Paraclete.
Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most Holy.
Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception.
Blessed be her Glorious Assumption.
Blessed be the name of Mary, Virgin and Mother.
Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse.
Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints. Amen.

Jesus Christ lives. He is full of goodness and is merciful. He has redeemed us from sin and death. All joys and struggles point us to him.

Praised be Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ the Son of God lives.
He died for us and rose from the dead. He has redeemed us from our sins. He has conquered regret, envy, and anger. He has done this. I accept his offer of redemption, no matter the cost.
If it costs me leaving behind my desire for wealth, comfort, earthly respect, so be it. I leave it behind to follow him.
I pray that we come closer to Christ through our struggles, and our joys.
