Hi

there is an excellent website which has links to the vatican offical web site, to do with reiki etc. If the link doesn’t work, then type in “Reiki and the catholic faith” in google search and then click on the first web page which is CUF.org, this makes it quite clear what the problems are of these things. here is the link if it works:
cuf.org/faithfacts/details_view.asp?ffID=200

God Bless you and you will be in my prayers.

I do martial arts - are you ppl saying martial arts is the occult or pagan? Sorry I don’t mean to sidetrack the thread - perhaps if someone could pm me

You can do martial arts or yoga, but if you incorporate the eastern spirituality aspects associated with them, then you set yourself at odds with Christianity and open yourself up to entities of unknown origin. Eastern spirtuality is pantheistic and believes God(s) is in everything, is abstract, and impersonal. Christianity is monotheistic and believes in a personal relationship with God. Truth is not relative but absolute. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.

Reiki was debunked about 12 years ago, by then a nine year old girl, who was doing a report for school. With the help of her mother, who is a registered nurse, she conducted experiments, using top level practitioners of Reiki. In her experiments, which I won’t go into detail here, the practitioners failed more than 80%.
Her report was so good, the American Journal of Medicine published it.

Reiki doesn’t just help with health issues. It works on phsyical, mental, emotional, and spiritual levels. It goes where it is needed most, which may not be always the physical level.

Reiki or not, sending positive energy always help.

Reiki is no different than the primitive practices of witch-doctors and medicine men among jungle tribes.

We should place our trust in real science and real spiritual direction from qualified people, not those who claim to have miraculous powers.

Depends if that energy actually exists or not, otherwise you could just be wasting time waving your hands in a pseudo-mystical pattern while ‘‘thinking positive thoughts’’ while someone dies of cancer believing that you can save their life.

I recommend to Catholics and those who want to know more about Reiki and the occult, get the book “Ransomed from Darkness” by Moira Noonan.

Moira Noonan is now a Catholic, and in her book she tells about her new age journey, and then her journey to Catholicism.

At one time she had practiced Reiki, and even if one feels “healed” in body…other worse things happen in the spirit.

A short quote from the book: “…the spirit guides of Reiki are not reconcilable with the Holy Spirit.” (p. 43)

In this day and age Catholics who want to be in the know should inform themselves about what is out there.

Peace,

Dorothy

Reiki is a healing through manipulation of ki, the Japanese version of chi. Rei means “spirit” in Japanese, so Reiki literally means “spirit life force”.

People have a life force within them, Catholics call it our soul. Catholics care for their soul with the Sacraments through which God fills the soul with His life.

Not all energies, spirits, or forces are good. Not even if we call them “positive” energies.
