Hi

Some are blessed with blissful lives whilst others are plagued with lives of pain and misery. Why? The only justifiable answer I can come up with is reincarnation. Those who were good in previous lives are now blessed with blissful lives. What is the Catholic view on this? Did Jesus make any reference to it?

Thank you - I’ve read through your link. It answers my reincarnation question but not the misery v bliss. Why do you think some suffer a lot more than others?I’m trying to find the following in the bible but can’t**?*“Them that’s got shall get Them that’s not shall lose ”***Can you help please?

Ever since the Fall things have been this way. That is how Our Lord redeemed the world, through suffering.

“Our Lord is at least consistent–the closer to Him you are, the more of His Cross he lets you carry.” Sr. Mary Jean Dorcy, OP. Suffering purifies.

As to why some people have it easier than others–the parable of Lazarus and the rich man is good for this problem: Luke 16:19-31. Hope this helps a little.

thank you so much. You have given me the answer to my question. I thank God for any punishment that He bestows on me. I’m being cleansed of sins.

Erm, let me rephrase that, it purifies if you accept it for God’s sake.
