Nope don’t believe in reincarnation. Personally I think people that like the idea of reincarnation are overly attached to things of this world -just my opinion though.

Well, most of us are still being attached to things of this world.
The danger of believing in reincarnation is for a person to believe that he still has many chances after death even if he screws up on his previous life - this is where Satan can get him for good. Man lives once and then his judgement day.

The question is truth. If it is a false system, as I believe it is, then it teaches error. Error has consequences. If I presume gravity no longer applies to me once I ascend a height of 2,000 ft above sea level in relation to Earth, and act in full faith according to my belief – there will be undesired consequences.
You have just made a claim in your preceeding statement:
Life is meaningful insofar as it relates to my treatment of others. In the reincarnation system, there is no impetus to get it right immediately. One who believes this system has no immediate compulsion to good works or the beneficial treatment of others. The hardest rub is that humans are social creatures. As such, perfection in all human relationships will never be attained on earth. Reincarnation is a Purgatory without the flames. Rather than purification and eternal satisfaction, as through fire, reincarnation asks me to be content with improvements I can’t appreciate in the pursuit of a moving target.

I consider myself Christian (though others might not), and I believe in reincarnation/rebirth of a certain sort. At the same time, though, belief in reincarnation/rebirth can be a distraction for many people, something that keeps them from focusing on their present life (but, then again, the belief in “one-life, then eternity in heaven or hell” can do the same).
In my idea of reincarnation/rebirth, the body is nor more a ‘shell’ than the mind is; both body and mind are constantly changing, and they make up your ‘self’. And, ultimately, when God is Realized, the whole universe becomes one’s body and mind (your limited ‘self’ is no longer limited), and it becomes impossible to “re-incarnate” at that point.

I have this feeling that the truth is something we can’t even imagine. It might be something where some people could say they call it reincarnation, but it is really still totally compatible with the Christian faith. God is so much bigger than we can even think.

Reincarnation is not part of Christian faith. You have one life to live on Earth. To believe in reincarnation is to disbelief what Jesus teaches.

Christianity and reincarnation are incompatible.God left us with the fullness of the truth through His Church. Jesus has told us, hell or heaven are eternal. It is not that reincarnation is “missing” from Christianity…it is completely seperate from. If reincarnation were to be considered, the sacrafice of our Lord would have been irrelevant and irrational, there would be no Hell. Christianity is not what we make it to be, but what He made it to be.

Just imagine the resurrection of the body after the Final Judgment. 
If reincarnation was true, just imagine standing around thinking, “Hmmm? Which body will I choose to inhabit for the rest of eternity?” But… what will happen to all the other bodies that won’t have souls?
I don’t think so. I talked to a Buddhist about this and asked, “If we all get another chance to get it right in subsequent lives, why is the world becoming a more violent place in which to live?” Things seem to be getting worse, not better as one would expect.
The whole idea of reincarnation is untenable. It has more holes than a colander. It is simply an excuse to be selfish and live as we want and not have to change our lives, and yet still retain a semblence of spirituality. A sop to the conscience.
It is also used to persuade young women to have abortions. I have seen a pamphlet handed out at an abortion clinic suggesting that the baby’s soul/spirit will drift around in the ether somewhere and return, when the timing is better for the mother, to inhabit the body of a future baby.
