I’d like to be able to get away with that at work. 😁 I am obligated to get my work done in general but that’s not to say I am ever obliged to deliver on any projects in a given week. At some point I am going to have to deliver whether I really feel like it or not.
So work and sex are similar? That doesn’t sound right.

Heck, we do things out of love instead of out of “feeling” often.

What if I only got up with a sick child when I felt like it? What if I only went to work when I felt like it? What if I only went to Mass when I felt like it?
This. Also, it is entirely possible that “not in the mood” can turn into “totally up for it” with a little bit of TLC.
Though I think using “not in the mood” for every refusal of sex would eventually lead to resentment. The flu is an illness, and a very good reason to not have sex. But “a mild headache” or “not in the mood” is kind of vague and if it’s used too much it surely doesn’t really mean anything?

Is it not better to be clear rather than using one phrase to mean multiple things.
