Rejecting the Motu Proprio....at Steubenville?

I would be shocked if it were a TLM. The university has never offered a TLM on campus (at least since the new mass was promulgated), and those in charge have patently refused in writing to allow one. There is no announcement on their website, no announcement in any of the Facebook groups dedicated to bringing the TLM to campus, and I have heard no one mention it.

If the 4pm mass is the TLM it would be a surprise to many, including me.
Alas, you were right. It was NO. I guess my friend just slipped and said “Traditional” before “Latin Mass.” Or it was just a miscommunication.

apologies.

I thought so. The administration there needs to realize that we are not infatuated with Latin, but the ritual that was the Latin Rite for 15 centuries.

An Extraordinary Form Mass will be celebrated in Christ the King Chapel at Franciscan University of Steubenville, OH at 4:00PM.

Does anyone know how this Mass went? I’ll be attending FUS in the Fall, and I’d love to be able to attend the Extraordinaru Form regularly.

It was great! I mean, it was obvious the servers had been newly trained, but the more they do it the smoother it will run. Not that it was scattered or all over the place–the Mass ran smoothly–it’s just a new thing here that young people had to learn. The celebrant was excellent though.

As of now, it appears that the Extraordinary Form will be celebrated once a month on campus, though it is offered more frequently off campus at St Peter’s.

Welcome to Steubenville!

It looks like St. Peter’s will be offering Latin Mass once per month, and so will FUS.

So you can get in two Latin Masses per month.

I think this Motu Proprio is the Humanae Vitae of the 21st Century in that it is really showing people’s TRUE COLORS
Well put…why don’t people just obey and stop all these loop hole mechanisms. It’s getting really tiresome.
