You’re still young. The older you get the better you handle these kinds of things. Not that it doesn’t stink. But it doesn’t stink as much. Also I’m sure at some point you may find yourself on the other end of the situation, and believe me that isn’t any easier. I think once you’ve experienced rejection once or twice you’ll learn to not let your emotions get carried away too early in the game. But now you’re probably hurting from the last rejection. The only advice I can give is don’t let it hurt your confidence. Girls are complicated, especially teenage girls. Whatever you do, don’t harp over it too much (I know, easier said than done). Try to move on. Spend more time with friends. Get more involved with hobbies. And if it’s possible, try to distance yourself a little from this girl for a while, as seeing her every day will probably make you feel worse. After a few weeks (or sometimes a few months) it will wear off and you’ll be back on your feet again.

Hope you enjoyed this brief man-to-man comiseration. 😛

I agree, I am in football and then hopefully school to come up!
Thanks so much for your time!

Yes, rejection is terrrible. There is nothing anyone here can say to stop this from being true right now.

But…

You are young. The probablility is that a relationship you have as a teenager is unlikely to result in marriage, so a few heartbreaks are almost inevitable. Many/most of us who are happily married now went through these ordeals, so try your best to recognise that you just need to move on and over time understand that “there are many fish in the sea”. It’s a bit trite, but it’s very true. Keep yourself busy with whatever - sport, friends - and soon enough you’ll probably find yourself interested in other girls and forget about old what’s-her-name.

And don’t be afraid to have a bit of a cry. It’s theraputic for guys too.

To pass on my Mothers’ advice:

If you cry about her she probably ain’t worth the tears

You have my sympathy as I have experienced the feelings you have right now although it was a long time ago. The idea of when one door closes another opens came to my mind so this is an opportunity for you. Pray for your old girlfriend and ask God to lead you to the next place He wants for your life. Share this with God and watch how He will help you heal.

You’re young. You’ll adjust.

😉

Been there, done that. Miserable, isn’t it?
