In Australia relations were cordial if a little distant, as they are in England. Oddly enough relations were best, warm and friendly, in Ireland (the south, that is).

There is an implcaied view amongst both communities here that, “we’d get along even better if the Vatican let us”.
Texas is far enough from the Vatican to note our playing nice!;);)😉

We do have good relationships, perhaps because we are both minority in this muslim majority country. Some “small” branch of Lutheran/Calvinist evangelized heavily to attract Catholics and convert them. We do have Adventist, Jehovah witnesses, and the embrio of Mormonism. I am surprise to see at least 2 Mormon churches, one in Jakarta and one in Surabaya. Overall, we live in union to one another.
Glad to hear it!

I can honestly say that in our area all Churchs work together…Catholic and Prodestent. I’ll give you a true example.

A Catholic Man (my Dad) wanted to make a donation to the Methodist church for their Bell Tower, he knew the Congragational Pastor well and knew the Congragational Paster knew the Methodist Paster well. So my Dad ask him to find out from the Methodist Pastor how to donate to the building of their Bell Tower. The Congragational Paster did, told my Dad and then my Dad (a life long Catholic) Donated to the Methodist Church for the building of their Bell Tower.

Years later when the Congragational Church burned down, as a Community the Methodist, Catholics and other Churchs helped to rebuild the Congragational Church.

You see even though we have different “Religions” We all are children of God. We all worship the Only True God. Sure we may have some differences in our Religions…but in our community we all respect each other.

We have a Free-Low Cost Medical Clinic here…staffed and financed by Protestants and Catholics…it’s a good work!
