Relations with St. Andrew

Many who call themselves traditional catholics (including me) mean traditional Roman Rite catholics. I am a teen planning on converting, but I am becoming interested in the eastern catholic rites. I was wondering what traditional roman-eastern catholic relations are like.

I am a teen planning on converting, but I am becoming interested in the eastern catholic rites.

The proper term is “Eastern Catholic Churches.”

The Catholic Church is a communion of 23 sui juris churches, using over a half-dozen separate rites.

The biggest is the Latin Church, which in addtion to the two forms of the Roman Rite includes the Mozarabic, Bragan, and Abrosian rites, as well as various uses of religions orders.

By and large, the relations are good, though some ( on both sides) have labored under the mistaken assumption that the more an Eastern liturgy resembled the Roman rite, the more Catholic it was.
