Relationship between dad and niece

Hi,

My mom and dad have been raising my niece since she was six months old, and she’s now going on fifteen. My dad has never had a good relationship with her - she is very headstrong, and he can be very impatient. He doesn’t react very well a lot of the time, and has said “I can’t stand her.” Lots of friction. I think he could benefit from some counseling if he’ll agree to it. My mom has asked me to pray for their relationship - she wants my niece to still come around when she’s an adult! I told her I would, and that I’d put it on this forum so the fine folks here can pray. Thank you all very much, and God bless you.

Praying for the father and the niece. Sometimes the teen years are the hardest for the father (and maybe even harder for the teenager). But if we can weather those years, the relationship will become stronger and healthier. So my prayers are for both and a long-term understanding.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

At 15 she is “testing her wings” and we all do that with those closest to us because underneath all the angst, we know there is love and trust.

Prayers for family in conflict

Lord Jesus, be with Lee’s family. Grant them Your peace and harmony, and an end to conflict between Lee’s father and Lee’s cousin. Give Lee’s father compassion to better understand his niece, wisdom and love to assist her, and trust and patience to live peacefully with her. Grant that through the intercession of the Blessed Mother and St. Joseph, this family may selflessly be dedicated to one another and to You. Amen.

Praying for the relationship between your Dad and niece. Also praying for all necessary graces for both of them.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
