Hello

A priest we know has given us a relic of Saint Brother Andre for veneration in our house for a while. He has done this to help us with some difficulties we are going through.

The relic has a small label in it that reads “Ex Tela Sang” Blessed Andre.

Could anybody help me understand what that means?

thanks

As the above says, from the blood of the tissue.

Most relics will come with a label (or, if not it will be on the certificate) starting ‘ex’ (from) and then what specific relic it is.

Most common are ex oss(ibus) - bone
ex sang(uine) - blood

This has a full description of what the Latin abbreviations mean at the bottom of the page.
