I am very grateful to God and Transalpine Redemptorist for having received the following Holy items for devotion in April…Being of Scottish descent this means a lot to me

The Bonnie Prince
This painting of Christ the King given the Honours of Scotland was commissioned by Father Michael Mary from the monastery island in Papa Stronsay, the Orkney Isles, in Scotland. You can visit the blog of the Transalpine Redemptorists here.
The idea was to depict the Royal Child emerging from the darkness, the mystery and the mist of the Highlands in all His beauty. As you can see in the painting, the Christ Child wears the Royal Stuart Tartan, and on His head is the crown of Scotland. He sits on the coronation stone (The Stone of Scone) which was used for centuries in the coronation of the monarchs of Scotland. His hand is raised in blessing and as in the style of the Most Holy Redeemer, He holds the Cross on His left side. His Sacred Heart is visible - the high point of the manifestation of His Kingship. He bears the marks of His crucifixion. Around Him are the Highlands of Scotland known for its grey skies and mist, and towards the edge of the painting the Royal Scottish Standard is visible.

May God bless you, Stephen Mc D for sharing the following information with me and may God bless the Saint Martin Apostolate I joyfully received all of these blessed devotional items in May

Many of you know of this wonderful news and it is probably posted somewhere else (If it is I do apologize to the MOD’s and to all the CAF user’s)

St. Maria Goretti - Pilgrimage to the United States
From September to November of this year the major relics of St. Maria Goretti will make a pilgrimage to the United States. Named the “Pilgrimage of Mercy,” it is the first time that her body travels to the USA.
While St. Maria is universally known as the Patroness of Purity, her greatest virtue was her unyielding forgiveness of her attacker even in the midst of horrendous physical suffering, a forgiveness that would completely convert him and set him on a path to personal holiness. In March 2015, His Holiness, Pope Francis, announced an Extraordinary Holy Year of Mercy beginning December 8, 2015. This visit of the major relics of St. Maria Goretti is an effort on the part of the Holy See and Treasures of the Church to prepare and catechize the United States for this great celebration in the life of the Church.

This is so wonderful! I only wish that I loved closer to one of these locations. The closest she came was to illinios and that was still a nearly 5 hour drive sadly. Does anyone know how I may obtain a second class relic of St. Maria Goretti?

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say I’ve really enjoyed this thread. I’ve sent a few emails requesting relics from posts at the beginning of this thread, but many years have past since this thread has started.

I’m newly entering the Catholic church this upcoming Easter. I’m trying to pick a patron Saint but it’s difficult to choose. Perhaps if God wills for me to be blessed with relics it may help me find patron Saint to help me get closer to Christ. I just love the Saints so much and want to learn everything I can. I’m especially fond of female mystic Saints. If anyone has any suggestions for me or contact info to inquire for prayer cards or relics I would be most grateful. I’m a new user here so I don’t think I can PM yet. God bless.

Can you believe this thread was started 4 years ago? It all started with me wondering and asking if the following website about Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta was really true and legitimate?

Since then and as you can see I have had my questions answered – thanks be to God, thanks to His Saints, His candidates for Sainthood, thank you to all the Postulators, Vice Postulators, and to all (even some of you on CAF and this very Forum) who have sent me blessed devotional items – it is a real joy and a blessing to receive these Heavenly treasures.

As you may know, some of the following candidates for Sainthood have been Beatified and Canonized such as St. Louis and St. Azélie-Marie and soon our dear Blessed Mother Teresa of Calcutta will soon be a Saint.

motherteresa.org/08_info/Canonization-1.html

So, please continue to Pray for their Beatification and Canonization. Please know that they all Pray for you and intercede for you too.

Not only is Mother Teresa going to Canonized this year.
Someone else we have mentioned on this thread is
Bl. Elizabeth of the Trinity.
It is just great how these holy people are finally being canonized after many, many years of investigation and prayers of the faithful through their intercession!

Even if a relic comes with a certificate, how do you know it is genuine?

  • Look for the red thread with the red seal
  • Translate the certificate and see if the description matches what it appears
  • Search on Google for the bishop/Vicar General/Postulator or the the member of the clergy who signed the document
  • Have faith!
These are some tips I would do to try my best to guarantee the authenticity of a relic before it goes into use for public veneration.

The seal at the back of the theca.
But that still doesn’t mean that what is inside is genuine though?

I remember a priest telling me he had a relic of the true cross. I asked him how he knew it was the true cross? He said because it had a certificate! 😊

Yes, but that together with the certificate is the only evidence one can have of it being real. Unless you are the one making the relics and you know for a fact it’s genuine.

Dear in jesus,

First of all, I would like to say that if you get a relic from valid church source, then it is authentic. Some come with red seal and certificate while others just come with a glued theca and its certificate. In either case it is valid…

Secondly, I would like to invite you all to visit my blog: tutyrelicexhibition.blogspot.com

And like my Apostolate at: www.Facebook.com/tutyrelicexhibition

I would like to thank Goforgoal who created this page and all who posted in this page.

Thank you.
