I’m not sure which area to post this in, but I thought this might be the best match. I’m sorry if it should go elsewhere. I am aware that there are currently only three priests in all of North America with the faculties to reauthenticate relics; however, I’m having a tough time figuring out who they are. Is there anyone out there that knows who these priests are? Thank you in advance!

Hello,

I have no idea. Perhaps you should try to get in touch with the Congregation for Causes of Saints, since they have competence in this matter:

causesanti.va/content/causadeisanti/it.html

I don’t see an email address, unfortunately…just snail mail and telephone/fax. Be assured that someone over there will speak English.

I never heard of such a thing, and I’ve been acquiring 1st Class Relics since 1967.

I am curious to find out if such a thing does exist and learn something new.

I contacted the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops because, sadly, there are fake relics being sold. They told me that the Diocese associated with the relic would help, or, if you don’t know which one, to contact: Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments at: Palazzo delle Congregazioni, 00193 Roma, Piazza Pio XII, 10

Describe the relic in detail. If it came in a particular type of packaging, describe that as well, along with where you obtained it and when. Including a photo should help.

God bless,
Ed

Not sure why they’d direct you to the CDWDS–they don’t deal with relics…unless Pastor bonus, n. 74 was changed and I don’t know about it… w2.vatican.va/content/john-paul-ii/en/apost_constitutions/documents/hf_jp-ii_apc_19880628_pastor-bonus-roman-curia.html#CONGREGATIONS

No, I’m sure these are real relics as I know the source. Thanks for the concern, but I’m positive these are legit relics and that’s why I want the re-authentication so they can be used in public veneration.

Thank you - if no one else can direct me, I’ll reach out to them.👍
