Ugh, it’s even worse with sound (I couldn’t even bear to watch this the first time in the office pantry’s soundless computer). >_>;;

Honestly, I’d sooner play games like Alice: Madness Returns or even that upcoming zombie game Lollipop Chainsaw. (Regarding the latter, I actually though their first trailer was almost as retarded… until they released the second featuring the Bosses of Zombie Rock. :hypno:)
I do like zombie games, and I am watching the walkthrough of Chainsaw currently. It does some fun… though the strong sexual content is a bit offputting. (again though what do I know… I tend to be a puritan in grand theft auto series and blast people who go to the strip club because of their sinning, lol).

I’m not too fond of the mystical elements in it either… though I do like the intelligent (though sometimes she doesn’t act it) heroine in the game. (boyfriend’s talking head on her belt buckle is a bit weird though).

lol okay favorite new catchprhase… “You’re like a kitten, a kitten that doesn’t speak Japanese!”

Pirates of the Burning Sea has a lot of Christian themes in it (despite it being a game where you go around swashbuckling and sinking ships) present is The Inquisition, the Knights Templar and practically a church in every port. I have to say it’s really nice when a video game character say something like ‘May the Lord bless you.’ it’s like wow Christianity and not in a negative light.

Oh and the game is free, absolutely free.

LOL! I watched the walkthrough myself about a month ago. The Zombie bosses did not disapoint. XD My favorite was the last one. That motorcycle looked pretty sweet.

Fallout 3 there was a postapocolyptic church (in an old ship I think), and they talked about St. Monica, and how she helped convert her son. Presented in a favorable light. One of the missions, however, was to convince a chaste young monk or priest to run off with a girl that was in love with him. I don’t know how it would have played out…I skipped the mission.

that was just one of the options of that mission. you could have told the priest-to-be to end his friendship with the girl to prevent and future “incident”.

you could have also lied to the priest in charge, claiming that you saw them have a relationship when in fact they didn’t (unless you made them)

Anyone play this game for NES? I did when I was 10 or so…
I have, and it’s sitting less than 2 feet away from me. It’s a horrible horrible game, but I enjoy horrible old video games.
Most of the top politicians in Japan have been Catholic?

Um…what?
A couple PMs of Japan have been Catholic, including their tenth PM. Catholicism was the only Christian religion until the fall of shogunate.

I’m a big assassin’s creed fan i love the game series it is so historical i feel like i’m literally there. And i also enjoy the halo series and the call of duty series and i have a svery very special love for skyrim.

Assassins’ creed is a great game in terms of being fun to play. But it paints the Catholic church as an evil entity bent on helping the Templars take over the world. I returned the game just for that.
Good thing you didn’t play AC2 then, seeing how the antagonist manipulates his way to becoming the pope and is the final boss.

see i feel people take the assassins creed series the wrong way. it doesn’t paint the catholic church as something evil actually it has nothing against it it just took the crusades and let you play as a acient muslim order made for defeating templars known as the hashhashin. So to get out of the crusades the used people throughout history as antagonists. in fact the game has no contradiction with our faith it has a god deal of factual history in it. the reason the templar order itself was disbanded was because pope clement found that they were disrespecting the faith so with that knowledge ubisoft decided it would be a good idea to make templars a antagonist. Plus you gotta keep in mind the game itself isn’t real. i think the enemy for the assassins should be corrupt people who were just bad guys i could care less if they were templars.

This really isn’t intended to be a rant, I’m just curious if any fellow gamer has noticed how terribly organized religion is portrayed.
In The Godfather (Playstation 2) video game there was a cutscene that showing the baptism for Michael (the youngest Corleone, am I right?)'s baby. Thing that bother me in that cutscene is the statue in the church’s altar (above the Tabernacle), it’s more like Virgin Mary’s statue rather than Christ’s. I only watch the movie once, but I remember the Corleones are Italian and also Catholics. I also try to recall my memory for another video game’s title which using the same depiction ( = set inside the Catholic church but the place where usually statue of Crucified Christ lies was replacing by Mary’s statue) but I can not remember it now. I will let you know If I can remember it 😃

PS: I apoligize if there is any grammatical error, my English is not good 😊
