CHRISTS PLAN OF HAPPINESS v THE WORLDS PLAN OF HAPPINESS

Although we come from many faiths our way of life and the future for our children is under attack. I believe that all though we have differences that we need to work together to fight the evil forces that go against Christs Plan of Happiness! There is a lost History due to satanic inspired Communist anti Religion. Many GOD given rights are already violated and threatened. I find it imperative that we encourage and restore the wisdom and principles discovered by the God inspired founders. We can discuss differences but our freedom requires we come together as the founders did on things that unite us.

THE NORTHWEST ORDINANCE and THE RELIGION OF AMERICA (not to be confused with a one world forced religion)

In 1787 the same congress that ratified the Constitution, were the ones that encouraged Religion, morality, and knowledge,being necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind,schools and the means of education shall forever be encouraged…

Have you read the Northwest Ordinance?

The following is a link to the text. After scrolling down to Article 3 you will see the order of importance listed as Religion, Morality and Knowledge.

As you will see reading the Northwest Ordinance and by reading historical documents and words of the founding fathers, they believed in Religion and morality. The purpose of Seperation of Church and State was not to seperate God from education and government but rather to prevent the government from embracing any one particular religion as has happened historically.

Regarding Religion and Education the question was then naturally asked “whos religion”?

Religion, Morality and Knowledge was the anchor of the American Culture from 1620 to 1936. The Founders did not create rights. They re-discovered them and realized there were no devine right of kings, rights were a gift from God to all men.

Samuel Adams said -"This is the religion of America

Ben Franklin said "These are the fundamentals of all sound religion…

Here are the 5 things that all sound religions have in common…

  1. There exists a creator who made all things and mankind should recognize and worship him.
  2. The creator has revealed a moral code of behavior for happy living which distinguishes right from wrong.
  3. The creator holds mankind responsible for the way they treat each other.
  4. All mankind live beyond this life.
5.In the next life individuals are judged for their conduct in this one.**

This is the uniting principles of morality that was to be taught in schools and was mandated by congress. It was not until the demise of McGuffy Readers that Religion and Morality were abandoned in our schools to be replaced by a content of trivia and amusement.

Actually, you make a god point. Now, the key would be implementing that plan. Hmmm… I htink I know a way it can be done. 🙂

In today’s age parents are afraid to discipline their kids because they fear the kids would call the CPS and take them away. It’s a real fear and I’ve seen it in action. Some times the kids get returned and sometimes not. So they are right to fear it. However, This puts the process of instilling morality on the shoulders of the educator and that doesn’t always work. But, it can be done. 🙂

I recommend the first use be as a Pilot program. Someone should find three schools ( one for each major school level ie elementary, middle school, and highschool) . these schols should have a discipline problem poor attendance and low scholastic scores. Then one needs to introduce this program to the principles of the schools selected as well as the school board. That way everyone is on the same page. When the board gives the principle a green light the Pilot program can start.

Evaluate it over the course of 4 years. I say four because that way they can track students grades over a prolonged period of time.

Now the downside is to make the introduction of morals gradually if done to fast the parents could think we’re ramming religion down there throats and that is not the purpose of this program, morality is. In short the public school system has many students from many faiths and philosphies. So the key may be to bring back the complete Pledge of Allegiance GOD included. As well as allowing students to participate in morality building exercises. If a student wishes to start a prayer group for their faith they should be given the green light no matter what the faith it is. Islam, Judiasm, Christianity, and yes even Pagan religions such as, Wiccan, Hinduism, Buddism. You may ask why? The answer is simple. The introduction of morality into the school system requires an act of faith. And in all he religions specified they all teach morality some more strict than others but they all do how else could they attract and keep worshippers otherwise.

The key here is to build the program find funding for it and then getting approval to start it. Thoughts? Question? and yes complaints?

If I send my child to a catholic school is he going to be taught mormonism? Likewise if I send my child to a government funded (and therefor controlled school) is he going to be taught religious principles that go against government power structure?

Your idea is great but the Government ran schools have intentionally removed Religion and morality. Your suggestions are and have been proven sucess already in our early history and now in the church schools and homeschooling. Unfortunately many have been deceived into a false interpretation of the true meaning of seperation of Church and State. It was never intended to mean seperation of Religion and State.
 
If we start to allow Religion in schools, then it is my hope that the great teachings of Buddha are also mentioned. And to be fair, those words taught by Krishna, Mohammad, Laozi, and even a few secularist thinkers ought to be mentioned.
 
Allowing religion in our schools is part of this nations heritage. It is what made the great most free people of modern times. The founders understood the lessons of history well. The social and economical problems today are a result of removing those moral and religious teachings.

Of course not.
Perhaps, they would I hope, at the very least teach the kids about other faiths (but of course, I have read enough dialouges here to see that the kids would be all messed up and never get a true picture from one in another denomination)

Can I ask you why not teach athiesm? Why not have agnostics come to teach the children?

Who will determine the credentials of these persons? And, if not all- and I do mean ALL religions are not taught- why teach any at all in the public schools? You guys ought to pay for religious education of your kids. I should not have to pay for it. That being said, I am a supporter of vouchers. I think parents that want to send their child to a religious school, such as a catholic school (sorry, that’s the only one I have investigated so far) OUGHT to get vouchers. Our school system can not support them if they all left, and then what? They save the taxpayer mucho money and they suffer greatly. I support religious education voucher system. And since catholics- unlike mormons- basically set up schools all over the US and also opened them up to non catholics- I see no point to your rant at all.

Government schools are part of a communist agenda to destroy religion and morality and replace it with a socialist Religion that is anti Christian.THE FOUNDING FATHERS ANSWERED THAT. What you missed, was where the heck were the Mormons when schools were being set up all over the US by Catholics???

You say you don’t like vouchers, but you do not say why. At least I can offer, and did offer why they are legitamate and ought to be supported, even by Mormons.

I do recognize good intentions with the vouchers. You stated that others shouldn’t pay for my religion but doesn’t supporting the voucher system contradict that? The better answer and solution isn’t to remove God from schools but to remove Godless government mandates and controls. Religious freedom should be viewed as a right not a privilege managed by the government via vouchers or other controls.
 
As for Catholics setting up schools I wasn’t against such and that wasn’t my point, However to answer What the Church of Jesus Christ of LDS was doing at a particular time would require more specifics as to which time period you are referring to. I think that is a good question that can be answered but is a distraction from the topic of this thread and might be better posed elsewhere.

I find this topic rather ironic, after participating on two other Threads discussing Mormon baptisms and other temple rites, performed “by proxy,” for the deceased. The Threads are noted below.

Notice the LDS Church performed a proxy baptism St. Damien, and then sealed him to a wife. St. Damien was a devout, celibate, Catholic.

Here is an intersting news article showing that the LDS have posthumously baptized, and sealed St. Damien, who was recently canonized by Pope Benedict XVI, to a wife.
Let’s see, the name wasn’t submitted by a relative, and he was a celibate priest. Isn’t there also a rule of 1 generation before ordinances can be done? He passed away in 1989, 20 years is not 1 generation.
I find the Mormon rituals of proxy baptisms, for the dead, to be disrespectful and an infringement upon our religious freedom. Yet, you are arguing for religious freedom in the schools.

I do not like the fact that “God” has been removed from the schools. At the same time, I believe in the separation of church and state.

Children are very impressionable. Exposing them to all the major religions at a young age can be very confusing. So, I think the way religion is presented, within the school system, is very important.

I believe it is the parents’ responsibility to teach their children and bring them up according to their faith. I believe we should teach our children, at a very young age, religious tolerance and respect for one’s right to religious freedom.

My son is 22 years old. We both study the history of Judaism, Christianity, and other religions and have very interesting discussions. He is an adult, now. I encourage him to learn and to study religious history, even outside our faith. That is very important to gain perspective.

I’m not quite clear on exactly what you want to change in the school systems. Are you advocating that Mormonism be taught in public schools or that all religions should be taught in public schools?

I think “moral” behavior and respect for one another can be taught in school, without connecting the behavior with every single religion.

That is a distraction of this thread topic and has nothing to do with this thread which wasn’t an invitation for disputes about Religious differences but an invitation to review the Great heritage this once great America was founded on.
I do not like the fact that “God” has been removed from the schools. At the same time, I believe in the separation of church and state. The separation of CHURCH AND STATE was originally stated by Jefferson, not to separate religion from state and education but to prevent the state from embracing and endorsing a particular religion. The founding fathers never wanted separation of religion and state. That is a popular myth perpetuated by Power Hungry anti religious movement. Have you ever read the 45 Goals of communism?

When we send our children to school we are not giving up parental rights, only delegating part of that responsibility.

This was the wisdom of the founding fathers.

So if we allow religion in schools, will the great teachings of the Buddha also be taught? Or will it only be Christianity?

It is my hope that if every student has the opportunity for religious education that the transformative teachings of Siddatha Gotama also be taught.
 
And they still taught you about Hinduism and Buddhism?

That’s good. I’m just wondering that if we put religion in schools if my religion will be taught as well. It would only be fair.
