When I was an undergrad, I worked in an operating room. The Nurses all did their eye make up differently so we could tell them apart. With some birkas, you don’t even get that option.

Geez… if I were forced to wear a birka, there is no way I would wear makeup and have it get all over the inside of the birka!!!

Quran/Islam/Muhammad forbade eating of swine, but not fixed any punishment in this world for violating it, the punishment will be in the hereafter, though spiritual bad effect may accrue.

I think OTBible and Jesus also did not like eating it.

So can you buy swine related products in Muslim markets? True, the Old Testement banned piggies, but Jesus taught us that it is what comes out of a man’s heart that makes him impure, not what goes into his mouth. Peter, in Acts, was told by God that what God has made is not impure and can be eaten by all. The Council of Jerusalem, and later Paul, taught us that those not born under Mosaic Law do not have to follow the practices.

there have always been peaceful sects of islam, they just are not very visible.

The problem with islam is the same problem that protestants face, authority. They have no authority except a book and there own interpretation of that book. Without an authoritative church established by God himself to safe keep the teachings of the church, you have division and chaos, as is evident in protestant realms. Since God gave no one teaching authority within islam that is visible and reverenced by muslims themselves, they will never have peace, only chaos and division.
