If Religion can solve all the problems of a person why is there a thing called Mental Health Counselling and why some people can’t do without it???

Religion is for your spiritual problems and guidance in life. Mental health is a physical and/or medical issue.

If you broke your leg or contracted pneumonia, you would pray, but you would also see a doctor.

If you have an illness of the mind, you would pray, but you would also see a “doctor” for your mind, who might be a mental health counselor.

The two things aren’t mutually exclusive.

Well said.

There a physiological reason for some mental issues. There is nothing wrong with seeking secular help when needed!

Religion solves your eternal problems… not your immediate ones. However, in my opinion someone who is devout, avoids sin and near occasions to sin is quite often in a good mental state even if they may be prone to mental issues. Confession, mass and rosary helped me from things like panic attacks… disclaimer, not saying that is what is anyone else should do or not do, please consult a doctor or physician and this post may cause discharges or leakages.

Who said religion, or more specifically Christianity can solve all problems?

A Franciscan who counsels explained to m that the mind and the soul are so close to each other that you must always check mental health. first. I do not agree with that premise

They sold secular counsel leaflets in the shop rather than praying

Well, the Christian Science movement believes that prayer alone can heal physical and mental ailments, but it is a fringe movement at best in the greater scheme of Christianity. They’ve been in continual legal trouble since their founding due to this, particularly when children are involved and are harmed when parents refuse to allow medical intervention for serious illness.

Beyond that, I think you’d be hard pressed to find any Christians who believe that mental or physical health should be attended solely through religion. A prayer can’t hurt, but there is nothing inherently un-Christian about going to see a counselor or physician for healing of the body or mind.
