In years past we’ve always wrapped about 1/2 our presents in religious wrapping paper - with pictures of Mary and baby Jesus - found at most big stores in years past…

But this year I can’t find anything… anywhere!

I’ve tried Target, Wal-Mart, and our local grocery (Publix)…

Nothing remotely religious. 😦

Anyone have any ideas for where to look?
I’m cheap :o, and not very creative 😉 … so don’t be giving me any “make your own” or “buy from this specialty shop” because that isn’t happenin’ 😛

Maybe I’ll try CVS or Walgreens… ??? 🤷

No suggestions, just sympathy. I ran into the same problem last year. We are a culturally mixed family and I alway try to put the Nino Jesus presents in nativity themed paper. 😦 I’m still looking.

Do you have Garden Ridge? They often have more religious Christmas stuff. I am going there tomorrow.

No… no Garden Ridge around here…
Maybe I’ll try Old Time Pottery too…???

I have heard that someone found religious Christmas paper at Family Dollar. I haven’t looked myself.

Peace,
Linda

I know I’ve bought gift bags printed with the Nativity or the Three Kings at Michaels, although I haven’t checked this year. Might be worth checking out, though.

Thanks for all the ideas! I’ll try Michaels and the dollar stores! 😃

I found some at Walmart a couple of weeks ago, but it was out in the undercover garden section. You might have to really hunt for it. Good luck! 🙂

That’s where I went during my lunch break (my office is right next door to Walmart - and yes, all the Christmas decor was in the garden section) and I hunted for a while. 😦
Oh well…

If you’re of the crafty persuasion, you could buy plain colored wrapping paper and stamp crosses on it. 🙂

Have you looked at your local Catholic or Christian bookstore?

Kinda defeats the purpose of my original question 😛 … but good ideas, none the less! 😃

I’m not crafty in the slightest (all my mom’s Martha Stewart genes went to my sister!) but even I could manage stamping wrapping paper. 😛

Still, your best bet might be a Family Christian store or Catholic store in your area. Luckily, I still have leftover wrapping paper with the Virgin Mary on it from last year.

Here’s what I found with a quick Google…

I’d feel bad tearing up religious gift wrapping and throwing it in the garbage, but that’s just me.

Sometimes Joann Fabrics has Mary and baby Jesus wrapping paper. I didn’t see any this year, but I had some left over, so didn’t worry about it.

I’ve been looking for angel wrapping paper and haven’t found anything even remotely religiou in nature. The closest I’ve come is pictures of families and homes in that olden/kitchy sort of look, which is cute. So I feel for you. I think I may just settle for something non-Santa/Snowman/Reindeer this year and just see what that leaves me.

Actually I was wondering what would be considered a religious wrapping paper? I went to the dollar store and there were some that said “joy to the world the lord has come” and other things like “have a blessed Christmas” also some that had angels in it??

I haven’t seen them any more this was like a week ago but I am sure they should bring some more of those back…Would those be considered religious??? 😦

FWIW, I’m not crazy about the idea of religious wrapping paper with images of the Holy Family and such. I’m just a teensy weensy bit squeamish about treating such images frivolously, which they will be if used as wrapping paper. OK – that’s over-the-top scrupulous, but there you have it. I stick with stars, pine boughs, candles . . . Especially stars.

OK… I consider myself a self-appointed expert on this topic because I won’t buy regular paper… just ones that have the right message about why we celebrate this season.

That being said… I found 3 different rolls at Walmart… but that was at the beginning of the season. I ALWAYS go to Dollar Tree and find religious wrap and bags. I haven’t checked Michaels but they did have some nice stuff at Hobby Lobby.

Other places… better department stores… they usually have them but they are pricey. If you have a Hallmark store… there is usually nativity scene ones there, and one last place to try… Big Lots… I have found it there too.

Good luck on your quest!

I recall being so frustrated several years ago not finding any CHRISTmas wrap. ANYWHERE. Not even in religious stores! I decided that Satan would NOT defeat my Christmas. I used brown package wrap and made my OWN Christmas paper by putting on stickers, drawing pictures and writing my own Christmas verses on it. I hope others will send a message and refuse to purchase secular wrap that lines the pockets of faithless corporations, and make your own as well until the makers get a clue that CHRISTIANITY is NOT dead. :angel1: After all - we are called to put LIGHT into this DARK world.

If all else fails, get plain paper and use religious stickers to decorate the paper.
