Hi All , im new to this site and felt it was something I really had to do.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some opinion on this , i guess i just want to talk about it to be honest as Im a little confused…
Im a 24yr old Roman Catholic, it means everything to me, in my heart it does anyway but iv found over the past couple of years I have got lost along the way, to the point your not being the person you should be and it gets to the stage you feel ashamed of the person you have become, slowly but surely u stop going to mass etc, but I still pray every night. I pray for strengh, strengh to help me on the right path, to make the right decisions and to be true to myself and to our Lord, and ofcourse Our Lady.
recently I had a dream, I was walking in a field by myself, it was windy and I was lost,No idea where this was I kept walking and I seen what looked like a ruin of a building, it had no roof and was sort of in a half moon shape, inside there was one long stone seat running the lengh and shape of the ruin inside and I sat down and looked ahead of me ( had no front on it either) I was just looking out to what looked like miles of grass ahead, then someone came round the side of the building and came and sat beside me, it was very calm and he didnt speak ,just sat there looking out ahead with me. I got up to walk ahead onto the grass and he said ‘’ Sit with me ‘’ So I sat back down and turned round to look at him , he didnt speak but smiled . It was a warm smile and we just sat there in silence, so peaceful thats what I remember most and I can remember thinking that the man made me feel at peace.
I woke up. The man in my dream was Saint Padre Pio. I dont know what to make of this ? I have never had a saint appear in my dreams before. what do you think this could mean, if anything? Sorry for the long post.

Hi Christine, I hope so as it would be most comforting
I am going to try hard to have my mind in sync with my heart , for me thats the biggest obstacle. My heart is true and kind , my mind has been some what lost in modern day life.
I feel like the devil is everywhere, tempting, even in some people that I know and are close to me and what I need more than anything is the strengh to fight this off , the wisdom to know better and the grace to remain true to my heart.
I always pray but I wonder is there a particular prayer that I can say for strengh

The mysteries of our faith remain just that, mysteries. I personally believe that even though we walk into the unknown in our daily life, God is with and within each and everyone of of us. What you received was a blessing, a kind of awakening. You’re not alone dear–no matter how dark the path, you will always be drawn to the glory of God even if you have the smallest bit of faith. That’s all it requires.

You have faith, and God sent a saint to speak with you and that’s a truly beautiful thing. What an amazing experience that must of been.

No one can tell you whether or not Padre Pio appeared in your dream, but you can take the dream as a message from your unconscious mind made up of the many thoughts and concerns you have in your waking hours.

The broken building could be a church, or a metaphor for the life you are currently living, the shape could be that you are only half-living your life, you sit on a seat and look out in front of you (your future?). It is broad and undefined, but lush and green, promising rather than frightening, but with no landmarks or identifying features to help you know where to go. The man is kind, he is not threatening, he wants you to remain with him there. Could it be he is trying to tell you that you need to find yourself where you are today, so that you can move forward?

If you don’t know much about Padre Pio, read about him. You may have found a patron saint who can help you get through these confusing and troubling times and help you to return fully to your faith. Perhaps you’ll have the dream again, and if you do, ask the kind man to reveal his identity and his message. God bless.

Well try being 45 & realizing this lol. You are blessed to realize this call. You have been given the opportunity at a young age to have this aha moment & return to walk closely with our Lord.
It is very easy to get “off track” in a world full of noise and selling a lifestyle that is contrary to the Truth.
I am now completing my journey into full communion with the Church tonight. What I have found in my months in RCIA that strengthens me is “practicing” what the Church teaches. The sacramental of daily Rosary, going to Adoration, going to Mass ( I would go every day if I could), has really helped me to hear God & not even be so bothered by many of the temptations that used to really bring me down. I have been a “believer” since my 20s, but know the fullness of truth is with the Catholic Church:thumbsup:
Rejoice, go to confession, embrace God’s call…it is very exciting!

Anytime I have a dream that I think is God showing me something, I always bring it to God in prayer and ask to have it again so that I don’t mistake something to be from God when it isn’t. I would talk to God about it, ask questions. It’s no problem for Him to give you the dream again, and a third night as well, if He wishes to speak to you in this manner.

Saying that, I would say that the first impression is God showing you the ruin of your soul, and someone who has been praying for you.

Please go to church, read scripture, go to confession. Being away from the sacraments makes you weaker, not stronger. They bring clarity, not confusion. We all need these things, especially surrounded with this culture.

God bless.

The day before day of religious dream did you think or meditation about that Saint.
Many my dreams were by my thoughts.
If it is that I will meditate throught day and maybe at night I will have some kinds of that dreams.

That is so nice.

Like one poster said, no one can say if Padre Pio did appear to you, but the invitation in the dream to “sit with him” suggests, to me, that if it WAS him, he is asking you to slow down in life.

Take some time to spend with Pade Pio. Slow down. Get some good books on Padre Pio, and some of the great movies that have been made on him in recent years. Get to know Padre Pio. Pray to him.

If it was him, it sounds to me like he wants to help you in some way to come back to the faith.

You know what is so strange? I just realized - I am going on Monday to San Giovanni Rotundo here in Italy. I will mention you to Padre Pio while I am there.

He is a powerful saint. Even if it was not him that appeared, it could never hurt to “sit with him” for awhile, in the ruins of your soul, asking him to help you, getting to know him through books and prayers and see how his message can help draw you closer to Christ. 🙂

Hi there , Yes I’d really like to think this is the case , it was honestly such a pleasant dream. would you mention me ? that would be utterly amazing and I would be most grateful. I feel the need to pray to Padre Pio , i want to learn more about him so im currently looking into this, I didnt have alot of knowledge of him before this dream or what he looked like. I knew the name ofcourse and it wasnt until after the dream I seen a picture of Saint Padre Pio and the man in my dream I am most sure was him , exact image, everything about him.
Thank you for your response everyone I have read them all and can see where you are coming from each and every one.
I have to throw myself deeper into my faith, I cant hide any longer.
Godbless you all

Tha validity of these dreams is also realized in how they bring one closer to there faith.

I once had a dream of an angel…
And he actually spoke to me…

What a beautiful dream, Josephine. I would interpret this as the intercession of Padre Pio, wanting you to become more faithful to Our Lord and our Church. Pray and give thanks to Padre Pio, and especially to The Lord, for it was by His Will and Grace that all of this was possible.

I wish I had dreams like that to strengthen my faith. God bless. Padre Pio, pray for us, especially for Josephine.

Hi!

Yes I will definitely mention you tomorrow! 🙂

Defiinitely check out the films on his life. This one is great:

amazon.com/Padre-Pio-Miracle-Sergio-Castellitto/dp/B000LXWAI6/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1303666385&sr=1-1

As is this one:

amazon.com/Padre-Pio-Between-Heaven-Earth/dp/B001PB3NWU/ref=sr_1_2?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1303666385&sr=1-2

They both take very different approaches but are well done. And if you can watch them in Italian with English subtitles, I think it is better - the English acting is not the best and I think sort of affects the viewing.

This is a good book on Padre Pio:

amazon.com/Padre-Stigmatist-Charles-Mortimer-Carty/dp/0895553554/ref=sr_1_12?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1303666485&sr=1-12

And this one I think too:

amazon.com/Padre-Pio-C-Bernard-Ruffin/dp/0879736739/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1303666485&sr=1-1

Hope you get a chance to check them out 🙂

I am going to PM you too on this topic, so check your private messages.

I was going to PM you on this, but it said your box was full, so I will put it here.

I am staying in Italy right now, and in Italy there is a great following of Padre Pio. Many churches organize prayer groups in his name. Here in Rome, there is a church with his priest stool, his cloak, one of his gloves, and some other relics.

I was thinking on this today as I stopped in that church to pray before the relics. I picked up a magazine in Italian, which is published by the official prayer group of the work of Padre Pio as they call it.

It is called La Casa, and you can look it up here if you know Italian: www.operapadrepio.it

Anyways, Padre Pio was known during his life to have what were called his “spiritual children.” These were individuals who wanted to follow his example and teaching and wanted Padre Pio to look after them spiritually.

I could be completely wrong, but I think that maybe Padre Pio still reaches out to us to try to get us to follow his example and teaching a little more closely. Maybe, and I could be wrong, but maybe your dream was a way he was reaching out to you to show you he wants to help you.

If you read the books about his life, you will come to understand a little more about these people who asked to be his “spiritual children.” I even asked him once myself 🙂 I believe he hears us.

The movies also address this a little.

You could always ask him if you could be one of his spiritual children 🙂

God bless!

I am a recent revert to the Catholic faith and one of the things that brought me back to the faith were a couple of dreams I had. They were very vivid and real and I can still remember each detail of them but the point is after the dreams I knew what I needed to do and it was to return to the faith.

wow, that is really cool 🙂 I love St Padre Pio, he’s helped me many times with his prayers!! Maybe he wants you to ask him for intercession? 🙂

God bless
