I feel for all both Men and Women with late vocations . I myself am 50 yrs old woman, I do not doubt my calling but with few opportunities I am feeling a bit lost and praying to find the community His Will is guilding me to find . I find I am look on with more questions as to why I waited so long then with welcome. I intend to keep looking and praying and know an answer will be reveled. I hope you continue to pray and your path to vocation will become clear. Much love and God bless and guild you in your Journey. Your sister in Christ

be sure to try the match feature at vocationnetwork.org/

one question is your age, so i’m assuming/hoping that the results are sorted accordingly.

:)I am a 58 yr old that looked for two or more and as everybody is saying WE are to OLD! I Do Not Believe Vocations stop at 45. We have to find our place. As for me am joining the Secular Franciscan order. I was a Franciscan when I was young but left and found my wife of 31yrs. Then when she divorced me i wanted to come back to my 1st love God. So nothing we stop me from doing that. As a SFO I can take privet vow and then we live those vows in a holy house of God. I Will open up a house called The Divine Mercy Brothers of our Lady of Guadalupe SFO. If the lord wants to make it an order, so be it. It will be for All who were to OLD for an other order and will be able to serve God here. I have a Blog that shows it we fallow in as time gos on. It Is www.dmbsfo.blogspot.com

www.cloisters.tripod.com new order vocations for women you may look at to see if you would like to be a part of. God bless emile

I wonder what it would be like to live in community when my kids are all grown? At that time, I suppose I would be a late vocation.

How old are you and are you male or female? I found 3 or 4 closters that would take you at 50. but I am now 58. I have a Blog that shows it and can follow it as time goes on. You can see about it on www.dmbsfo.blogspot.com

It’s not really a serious inquiry. I was sort of musing. I’m a woman and I would be under 50. 😃

So, SFO’s can take private vows on pain of sin?

I expect as time goes on there will be more and more orders that extend the age limit because people are going to the gym and living healthier lives for longer.

I have spoken with Franciscans of the Assumption BVM Province. I believe that they might consider candidates over 40.

The Carmelites might also but it would be on a case by case basis.

Can’t hurt to contact them.
Yes don’t count out the Franciscans (or the Carmelites)…

Speaking for the Franciscan family… vocations are always individual…some vocation directors are more able to make allowances… remember that even if one vocation person says no as to age… there are many branches and provinces

We pray for vocations to religious life and the priesthood daily so we will be praying for you,
that if you are called to the priesthood that you will find where you are called to serve

Blessings…

For all men that were called by God but
men said you were too old,
May come and serve our Lord as Divine Mercy Brothers
We hope to become diocesan hermits for a bishop
and take vows with him and our charism will be the
Divine Mercy chaplet for souls, sick, dying and purgatory
We will be semi- cloistered, going out only for mass,
Eucharist adoration, praying for sick, food, and laundry
Any questions write to

Thank you Br. Emile, yes I have two bachelor degrees (Chemistry & Chemical Engineering) and finishing my master degree in Chemistry. But, I’m not from US. I’m here in Malaysia and I can’t find any vocation director here 😦 , anyway I really do appreciate reaching out to me.
