it’s good to see this video…I wish we could see something coming from the forgotten parts of the Ummah, in the ex-Soviet republics in Central Asia…we hear very little from them.

I’ve heard a Bosnian Imam giving a Friday sermon in Arabic, is that common ? why would anyone speak a language that the crowd don’t understand.

maybe it was a mixed crowd,in what country was it?

its not common at all,i never heard an imam speaking arabic
 
Don’t you know that music is not allowed in Islam ;)…

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 69, Number 494v:
Narrated Abu 'Amir or Abu Malik Al-Ash’ari:
that he heard the Prophet saying, "From among my followers there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks and the use of musical instruments, as lawful. And there will be some people who will stay near the side of a mountain and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, ‘Return to us tomorrow.’ Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and He will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection."
صحيح البخاري:
“ليكونن من أمتي أقوام يستحلون الحر و الحرير و الخمر و المعازف، و لينزلن أقوام إلى جنب علم، يروح عليهم بسارحة لهم، يأتيهم لحاجة، فيقولون: ارجع إلينا غدا، فيبيتهم الله، ويضع العلم، ويمسخ آخرين قردة وخنازير إلى يوم القيامة”

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:
Nafi’ said: Ibn Umar heard a pipe, put his fingers in his ears and went away from the road. He said to me: Are you hearing anything? I said: No. He said: He then took his fingers out of his ears and said: I was with the Prophet (peace_be_upon_him), and he heard like this and he did like this. AbuAli al-Lu’lu said: I heard AbuDawud say: This is a rejected tradition.
سنن أبي داود:
“سمع ابن عمر مزماراً، قال: فوضع أصبعيه على أذنيه، ونأى عن الطريق، وقال لي: يا نافع هل تسمع شيئاً؟ قال: فقلت: لا! قال: فرفع أصبعيه من أذنيه، وقال: كنت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، فسمع مثل هذا! فصنع مثل هذا”

Based on the above I think you should substitute Saudia with Bosnia…😉

The beauty of the human voice and the God given gift to create music from nothing more than wood and string and goatskin, speaks to the soul. You’re sharing shows us no matter the religion or culture, it is possible to offer up the human voice and musical talent like incense to God, giving Him praise and glory. Children singing, who’s hearts are not yet corrupted by all that life has to throw at them; can there be a more beautiful sound to the ear?

"Agni Parthene (Gr. Αγνή Παρθένε) is a non-liturgical hymn composed in Greek by St. Nectarios of Aegina in the 19th century during his tenure as director of the Rizarios Theological School of Athens. St. Nektarios liked to compose hymns in honor of the Mother of God to deepen his personal prayer and relationship with her. The tradition passed down at the monastery of St. Nektarios, in Aegina, Greece, is that the Lady herself appeared before him and requested that he record on paper a particular hymn the angelic choirs were about to sing. This hymn was the “Agni Parthene”. The original script can still be viewed on his prayer table in his bedroom at this monastery.

The original melody to this hymn was composed by an Athonite hymnographer who is said to also have had a vision of the Virgin Mary prior to composing the work. The recording of this melody by the Monks of Simonopetra has contributed significantly to the popularization of the hymn. "

One of my all time favourites 🙂 I have a very slight personal preference for this version. It’s impossible to stop your soul joining in with their praise. 🙂
