Very nice videos all around. Here are a few my favorites. I’ve probably posted at least some of these here before, but they’re still just as good. 😉

Ethiopian Tewahido Orthodox mezmur 'BeBete Mekdesih" by Mirtinesh: youtube.com/watch?v=aSkj9-tucW8

Egyptian Coptic Orthodox “Verses of the Cymbals” (“Shere ne Maria”)youtube.com/watch?v=GfOfJVbnUds, sung by Gad Lewis.

Cristo Resucito/Al-Masih Qam/Christos Anesti in Spanish, Arabic, and Greek by Coro Bizantino San Juan Damasceno of Santiago, Chile (I about fell out of my chair when I first heard it in Spanish): youtube.com/watch?v=BrkR9W4DX5E

Antiphon: “Crucem Sanctam Subiit” by Ensemble Organum: youtube.com/watch?v=pEXNKDVs8Sw

Not really a song, but here is the Eucharist in Aramaic from the Maronite Divine Liturgy: youtube.com/watch?v=1mn6Ltcv978&feature=player_profilepage

And one for the Muslims, though it is more political than strictly religious (but it does mention Our Saviour, even though the artist himself was Muslim): Abdel Halim Hafez “El Masih”

Neat thread.

Based on your post dzheremi, you saw and heard the video from “bosnian muslim member” and you commented on it.

I wonder if the OP will see **your **vid’s that you posted for comment/discussion. 🤷

Yeah, I saw her video. The little girl in the video is certainly talented. Can’t say it really influenced my choice of postings, though. I just went through my Youtube favorites, which are mostly Eastern Christian hymns (I like these better than most Latin/Gregorian Chant, though Ensemble Organum is in Latin) and Assyrian/Syriac nationalist videos. 🤷

Here’s a song I’ve heard recently that is not particularly religious; it is sung as though it were the voice of a whale. It is called, “Save Me”; I’m not sure who the author/lyricist is.

Angelo Michael: Did you know that the real Archangel Micha-EL was “one of the chief princes of Persia”?

Oh man, very beautiful… that one made me cry. My own mother died young. This song is universal, most can relate to the pain of loss.

Glad you pulled this thread up. It is very cool. I love looking at different cultures and listening to their music. I also have to say that God saw fit to make the Slavs some of the most beautiful people in the world.

I like this one from little 7 yr old Rhema Marvanne. She is singing Amazing Grace, Her mom Wendi Marvanne Voraritskul, had a beautiful voice too. She died young of cancer.

Ameno, by Era (Latin chants done to modern beats) - youtube.com/watch?v=6SvxaNQ6d7M

Christos Aneste (“Christ is Risen”) by a Serbian singer with an absolutely lovely voice  - youtube.com/watch?v=Y7tKexc4wSM

Serbian Orthodox rendition of a Pascha song - youtube.com/watch?v=bFyEgJc1gbY

Lion of Judah by Jason Upton - youtube.com/watch?v=fAyyG1FXvGw

And for good measure…

Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to be Pastors (a spoof of the country song) - youtube.com/watch?v=TyNyHLCppMA
Nice! They are Hauntingly beautiful…cept for the last one. ROFL 😛

I like this woman by the name of Misty Edwards as well. This is called I will Run.

One other one I’ll add, my favorite religious song of all time - A Mighty Fortress Is Our Lord 😃 And this is the best version I’ve ever heard, that sung by Steve Green - youtube.com/watch?v=NRJHKzU_t1M When I sing it myself, I feel my heart thumping and my passion growing.

Sad thing is whenever I sing this at my parent’s home, they immediately go, “Oh, Davy and Goliath?” :doh2:

I should watch the original “Davy and Goliath”. I’ve watched quite a few on Adult Swim but I’m sure they have lost something in the skewer process. ROFL

Do you mean Moral Orel, the Davy and Goliath spoof? 😛 I believe TBN still shows Davy and Goliath reruns on Saturday mornings, along with some other hit-and-miss shows. Just make sure if your children watch it that they don’t watch long enough to catch one of their telethons.

I’m also a fan of 7 yr old Rhema Marvanne. I don’t see many who can beat her voice.youtube.com/watch?v=9caTclKNXnw&feature=pyv&ad=5047396570&kw=andrea%20bocelli

Yes, on cartoon network. My ex said they are Davey and Goliath to him. I like spoofs and satire, LOL
