Let’s look at Matthew 5:39 “But I say unto you, not to resist evil; but whoever shall strike thee on thy right cheek, turn to him also the other.” Is this the absolute truth or not?

Also, Mr. bobzills, --or is it Miss or Mrs.?-- don’t just take one verse alone OUT OF CONTEXT. This principle is mighty important, especially when it comes to Biblical interpretation! Otherwise you are just picking and choosing. Be careful about it, in order not to use God’s Name in vain! Again, this is greatly important. O.K.?

There was a typo in my statement here, it was supposed to be if a Moslem converts from Islam to Christianity, then he is subject to being stoned.
One comment on your observation. I see a difference between a policy practiced in the past and one being practiced today.

Ahem!.. There might not be any stoning involved, but there usually is either great tension or great sadness, however, when a Christian (catholic or other denomination) or a Jew moves to another faith or denomination. No need to throw stones or kill the one who makes such a move. (Although there are some instances of violence in words or in deeds sometimes, even among Jews and Christians). Even without actual “violent” acts, it usually is a painful experience, just like a sword…

Excuse me, bobzills, but if you believe God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, doesn’t have the absolute truth and hasn’t revealed the truth to the Apostles, well, what kind of Catholic are you? Is God confused?
So you, a supposedly Catholic, don’t believe what the Catholic Church believes and teaches? (and has taught consistently throughout the centuries, defining some of its teachings more precisely with time and clarifying certain points that were not as complete as it seemed as soon as the clarification revealed itself from the Divine Revelation already there?) You don’t believe Jesus is the Eternal Word of God who took the human nature and became a man? Is it so hard for God to achieve that, He who has created the heaven and the earth and everything and every being there “ex nihilo” (out of nothing)?.. Do you want to tell God how to be God?
What exactly do you have a problem with, bobzills? Sorry to talk to you, a Catholic, in front of non-Catholics like this. But you forced me into this.
When you talk about truth, and absolute truth at that, you had better know what you are talking about!
We are not a syncretic religion, bobzills. No way!

Mt 5,38-48. And this is part of the Sermon on the Mount, Mt 5. 6 and 7. You don’t seem really interested in Jesus. You don’t seem to really think of Him as your Lord and your God. You don’t seem to take Him very seriously! You don’t seem to have much love for Him, bobzills! Otherwise how could you come with that kind of talk just to trouble the weak and the uncertain. You don’t seem to share much of the Good Shepherd’s care for all of His sheep, including the weak and the uncertain. You seem more interested in making the people fall then in really shedding light in our daily journey to God… You don’t send posts showing any love for Jesus, really!

You call this personal attacks? when you don’t mind attacking the Church and spreading doubt in the minds of Catholics with your insinuations? You could have protested that you indeed do care for Jesus Christ. You haven’t done it yet. Why?
