Was granted an annulment, Am in process of remarriage,
Have requested baptismal certificate for marriage,
marriage that was annuled is still listed,
however, underneath there is a quotation that has my diocese tribunal and case number.
I don’t understand why the marriage is still listed on the baptismal certificate, when I was granted an annulment. Any insight into this would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, it’s listed as part part of your history, and ensures that everything is correct, and if any question should arise, all is in order.

Wishing you much happiness, and God’s blessing on your upcoming marriage.

so what happens after the marriage, are 2 names listed under marriage on the baptismal certificate?

It is a fact that you have gone through marriage process twice even if one the first was invalid. That is a reality of your life. It is also the case the (invalid) marriage is still in the records of your land, as is your divorce. These things happened. The annulment was a process which occurred and freed you from the first marriage that took place in real time, even if not, as it turned out validly.

A Baptism certificate is only used for very rare occasions, like when you marry and you should never need to profer it again. File it away and forget about it. If you have concerns about it perhaps you might speak to your priest.

Please don’t let this spoil your wedding preparations. Rejoice that you have received an annulment, though there are people who to their grief, have not, and so cannot validly marry again. You are blessed enough to be able to.

Wishing you peace. 🙂

I’m sorry that you are feeling pain in the reminder. Naturally you wish to forget the past. I hope that hurt fades soon.
