I’m sure there are…but where are they? Where is the central authority in Islam that can definitively interpret Quran verses? Why aren’t these Muslims protesting in the streets for peace by their breatheren?
Until I see that, I will continue to warn about the danger Islam posesses to the world. If it can’t or won’t police itself, someone has to for all of our sakes.
They are not here that is for sure. And they could have had that if MO would not have been such a short sighted dictator.

Putting quotations around “fullfilled” is not bigotry. I am sure you can understand that, as a Jew, I don’t agree that my Torah has been fullfilled. It is a concept alien to judaism. Certainly it is no more bigotry than you saying my Scipture was not a full revelation. As for Christian beliefs, I don’t claim to be an expert on them. But your explanation that you don’t consider the “OT” literal is just that – an explanaiton. My point was that Christians have explanations for what would otherise be problematic verses for them. Why do you assume that Muslims do not have their own explanations for verses that seem problematic?
I am sure they do have some. Their Koran is missing fullfillment as well as your books.

Why do you assume that I dont think Muslims have an explanation for verses that dont make sense?

I am aware your holy book is not fulfilled in any way.

PS to see why your quotes around fulfilled is annoying at the very least-

read what it means: m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?va=fulfilled

It also is annoying when you put quotes around OT.

Valke2;1593325:
Why?

Please dont put quotes around the OT either.
Because calling the Tanakh the OT implies that it has been replaced. The same reason I take issue with “fulfilled”.

Some Jews consider the term “Old Testament” biased or offensive. In academic circles, terms such as Hebrew Bible are commonly used. - Wikipedia

I see why you want Hebrew Bible.

I do not see your issues with fulfilled. And, just to be more annoying you put it in quotes again.

You know what it means to a Christian. Why the quotes? Unless only to mock?
Who has knocked your beliefs here?

It is not to mock. It is something that I do not believe. So I put it in quotes. If you were to discuss the belief that Islam is the one “true religion” you would most likely use quotes. At least I’ve seen others here doing it.

When you do it with the word fulfilled you are indirectly taking a jab at Jesus.

Go ahead. I give up on your obstinate rudeness.

Perhaps spending all day on a Catholic site isn’t an appropriate place then? Instead of getting offended are that basics of our faith perhaps you can build your own elsewhere?

I wouldn’t go to a Jewish site and say, so you are “God’s chosen people”, and you’re awaiting the Jewish “Messiah” etc… Of course it will come off as condescending, so I probably wouldn’t put myself int hat position in the first place. I certainly wouldn’t admonisht he Jewish posters for getting aggravated at my mocking quotes.

Well, as long as we’re on the subject of annoying. It is annoying to see the Torah/Tanakh referred to as “OT”.

That’s an excellent point. Except for the fact that I am on the “Non-Catholic” Religion portion. I was only replying to the post that asked me to stop putting OT in quotes. There are certain terms that are outside my belief system. So I put them in quotes. Perhaps the poster that gets offended at quotations should consider going to other threads where he won’t be subjected to the otherwise annoying use of “quotes”.

Not really it’s still a Catholic site, and as such if our terminology of the Old Testament offends you, you should leave rather than call us annoying like you tend to do. That being said, I don’t see the use in posting if you are so easily offended by our basic belief system. We’re not Hebrew’s why would we call it the “Torah”, or “Tanakh”? We call it the Old Testament, and Jesus as our Lord, the second part of the Trinity. If it offends you somuch that you resort to personal attacks perhaps you should reassess what exactly is the purpose of you posting here at all?

stop being annoying. You have an annoying habit of focusing on one side of a debate. Use “OT” all you want. Just don’t tell me it is annoying when I put it in quotes. That was what I was responding to.

How grown up of you, what are you ten years old? I ask for you stop calling us annoying because we call the Old Testament the OT, so you respond with calling me annoying five times…

Welcome to my ignore list

LOL!!!
Can we move one now?
Valke2 if you want to refer to the Torah as Torah that is great but we Catholics call it the OT-Old Testament and this is how you will usually see it refered to here.🙂

Yep. I’m not expecting any christians to call the OT anything else. Please don’t take offense at my use of quotations when I use it. I actually use the term here out of respect because I know it is what everyone is familar with.
